Job Description

COMPANY:                            Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.

LOCATION:                            168 Third Ave., Waltham, MA 02451 (can work remotely)

TITLE:                                    Product Manager

HOURS:                                  Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

DUTIES:                                 Articulate a vision for a cloud-native, data orchestration platform and translate into product requirements and prioritization with development team.

                                                Construct compelling and comprehensive customer user cases to provide alignment to multiple Engineering teams located across the globe.

                                                Demonstrate ownership of the full lifecycle for platform capabilities including strategy, positioning, market fit, feature roadmap, and delivery, and escalating issues and risks to drive solutions forward.

                                                Work with business units and marketing teams to define the global go-to-market strategy for attracting developers onto our platform.

                                                Conduct Voice of Customer, competitive research, and financial/business case analyses.

TRAVEL:                                Up to 20% domestic and international travel required. Telecommuting Employee: Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute.

REQUIREMENTS:                  Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience developing products requirements cloud-native data platform, or related experience. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience developing products requirements cloud-native data platform, or related experience as an equivalent alternative.

                                                Required knowledge or experience with:

                                                API management lifecycles, including road mapping, versioning, and deprecation;

                                                Owning developer-facing managed cloud services and APIs;

                                                Agile software development;

                                                Web Service architecture;

                                                HTTP/1.1 protocol;

                                                RESTful APIs;

                                                OIDC authentication protocol;

                                                UX/UI practices; and

                                                Business logic/Workflow automation.
