As a Product Manager, Senior, at Independence Pet Holdings, you will play a pivotal role within the Product CoE, in optimizing and managing pet insurance products that bring peace of mind to pet owners. Your primary responsibility will be to shape the strategic direction of state groupings and Product Portfolio management, driving profitable growth through a combination of data insights, market and DOI intelligence, product expertise, and cross-functional collaboration—especially within our MGA network. Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategies on our Product offering suite that are specific to the varying state departments of insurance expectations.
- Analyze product and portfolio P&L performance, opportunities, new product performance metrics and initiative results to lead to recommended changes to the Products or strategies themselves.
- Collaborate across teams to create long-term roadmaps optimizing product, state, and operational goals.
- Manage Product Analyst(s) who support the state strategies and portfolio analysis needs.
- Prioritize product and pricing opportunities based on strategic alignment and key objectives.
- Serve as the key voice of geographical product to assess impacts of prospective changes and their potential impacts.
- Lead portfolio profitability and growth strategies, such as targeting ideal customer segments.
- Provides input into rate, loss, budget, and other planning teams.
- Support new product development and state-specific launches with Product CoE and Administrators.
- Build structured data insights from multiple sources to inform strategic decisions.
- Leverage market intelligence tools like S&P Global and Ratefilings.com to shape strategies.
- Partners with Actuarial and Underwriting to identify relevant portfolio views, profit opportunities, emerging themes, to improve performance and minimize risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience in insurance pricing, underwriting and/or product performance.
- 3+ years of State Product Management experience preferred
- Leadership experience preferred
- Veterinary or Animal Health (dogs and cats) knowledge or experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to collect, analyse, and synthesize data to drive informed product decisions.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and analysis for internal audiences
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Ability and willingness to work remote, hybrid optional for individuals in Scotsdale/Phoenix, Chicago, NYC, Akron OH areas.
