About the Role

We empower our product teams to solve hard problems – customer problems and business problems – in ways that our customers love, yet work for our business.   Our product teams are cross-functional and durable, generally composed of a product manager, a product designer, and several engineers. 

The WEX Savings Network plays a critical role in helping our business customers save money on fuel and other services. You’ll join the Savings Network Product Team to help influence customer behavior within the network. This internship will expose you to the product discovery process and a role in product management. You’ll focus on identifying solutions that increase customer utilization of the network and become the subject matter expert for a selected segment. Responsibilities will include, testing ideas, measuring results, iterating on experiments, and creating new concepts to test from customer insights.

Our Summer Internship Program puts you in the heart of one of the most strategic companies in the world. You will partner with multiple team members, collaborate with different departments, focus on specific projects, which you will support and even lead. Your expertise will help solve problems that may not even exist today. Our guidance and education throughout this journey will help build your confidence, expand your professional experiences and help improve your leadership skills. Our Program runs for approximately 13 weeks from the end of May to mid-August. Internships are paid and available for those seeking remote, hybrid, and onsite opportunities.

How you will make an impact:

  • Help the Savings Network Product Team quickly learn which concepts influence customer behavior and which don’t

  • Identify and test new ideas to influence utilization of the network

  • Partner with the team to launch and commercialize new technology-powered solutions

What you'll get out of it:

  • Experience leading product discovery

  • Be creative and come up with ways to test ideas, measure how well they work, and keep improving to achieve the outcome

  • Demonstrate ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative

  • Engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship

Experience you’ll bring: 

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related study

  • Strong desire to work on technology-powered products in product management or marketing

  • Strong project management skills, including planning and execution

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills is preferred

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
