Own feature-area roadmaps for a cloud-based enterprise quality management platform. Responsibilities include customer discovery, product requirements, user stories, roadmap planning, Agile delivery coordination, release management, regulatory trend analysis, stakeholder communication, and post-release measurement. The role partners with engineering, UX, QA, sales, marketing, services, and customers to deliver scalable software for regulated industries.
This is a remote position.
PSC Software builds the Adaptive Compliance Engine™ (ACE™), a cloud-based quality management platform for companies in regulated industries, including pharma, biotech, medical devices, food and beverage, and manufacturing. ACE helps quality and regulatory teams manage the processes that keep them audit-ready, such as document control, CAPA, training, and change control, in one place.
Position Summary
As a Product Manager II, you'll own one or more feature areas of ACE from discovery through release. You'll work closely with engineering, design, architecture, and QA to build scalable, highly available cloud software, and you'll spend real time with customers to understand how they run quality in a regulated environment. Alongside our Product Development, Services, and Strategy teams, and with input from executive leadership, you'll help decide what we build next and make sure it ships with quality and on time.
Schedule
Remote. Must be available at least 6 hours a day between 5:00 AM and 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
Your Role
- Own the roadmap for one or more ACE feature areas and help shape the overall product vision with leadership.
- Talk with customers regularly, including quality, regulatory, and IT stakeholders, to learn how they run their quality processes and where the product falls short.
- Build the business case for roadmap items and define how success will be measured before work starts.
- Write clear, specific requirements and user stories with acceptance criteria that engineering and QA can build and test against without guessing.
- Prototype and validate ideas early with UX and customers so the team solves the right problems in the right order.
- Work through trade-offs with engineering and architecture on scope, scalability, performance, and security, and explain those decisions plainly to stakeholders.
- Run backlog refinement and sprint planning with your delivery team, and keep priorities clear when they shift mid-cycle.
- Track delivery against release commitments, raise risks early, and make scope calls when timelines get tight.
- Stay current on FDA, EU, and ISO regulatory changes and life sciences industry trends, and turn the ones that matter into product requirements.
- Partner with Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, Support, and Services on launches, including release communications, enablement, training, and demos.
- Be the go-to expert on your product area for internal teams, and support Sales on customer conversations, demos, and RFP responses.
- After release, use adoption, customer feedback, and support trends to measure what worked and decide what comes next.
- Share roadmap progress, priorities, and trade-offs with leadership on a regular basis.
- Give clear direction and constructive feedback to the engineers, designers, and QA on your team so everyone knows what they own and why it matters.
- Additional duties may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
What You'll Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3+ years of product management or equivalent experience with enterprise B2B software
- Experience with web-based products built for a specific vertical market
- Experience working closely with engineering and QA to deliver features in an Agile environment
- Experience turning customer and market research into short- and long-term roadmaps
- Comfortable discussing system architecture, APIs, integrations, and data models with engineers, and able to recognize when something is harder than it looks
- Able to work the schedule described above
Nice to Have
- Experience in regulated industries such as pharma, biotech, or medical devices, and familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, GxP, or ISO 13485
- Background with QMS or eQMS workflows, such as CAPA, document control, change control, training management, or audit management
- Experience shipping AI-powered features, including defining evaluation criteria, quality bars, and success metrics for AI output
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for backlog management, sprint planning, and product documentation
- Familiarity with Bitbucket or similar Git-based tools, enough to follow pull requests and trace what shipped in a release
- Regular use of AI assistants such as Claude for research, prototyping, drafting specs, or other day-to-day product work, with good judgment about where their output needs a human check
- CSPO or SAFe POPM certification
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Skills That Set You Apart
- Customer and market insight: Learns quickly how customers work, separates what they ask for from what they need, and spots patterns across accounts.
- Prioritization and judgment: Makes clear calls between competing requests and fixed deadlines, explains the tradeoffs to stakeholders, and changes course when new information comes in.
- Data-driven decisions: Uses usage metrics, customer feedback, and support trends to make product decisions and defend them.
- Clear communication: Writes specs, user stories, and release notes people actually read, and presents just as effectively in a whiteboard session, a customer call, or a leadership review.
- Influence and relationships: Gets engineering, sales, services, and leadership aligned without formal authority, builds trusted relationships with customers, and pays attention to how decisions land with people.
