Block's Guidance Transformation team is an intellectually diverse team of machine learning modelers, data scientists, former strategy consultants and data engineers focused on applying leading AI, graph analytics and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems for executives in Block's organization.
Within the Guidance Transformation team, the Forecasting Product team is committed to building Block's next generation of innovative, user-centric forecasting and reporting tools; as well as, executing the forecasting tools for long range planning, annual planning, and scenario analysis to empower Block to make data driven strategic decisions in our fast paced competitive environment. This group has significant exposure to all facets of Block's Finance, Executive Management and business partners.
We are looking for a strategic, data-savvy product leader with deep experience building and scaling forecasting or modeling tools. This person combines strong product instincts with an understanding of financial data, machine learning applications and focus on delivering exceptional user experiences.
You will:
  • Own the forecasting product roadmap from conception through launch, driving features that support predictive analytics, scenario planning, and P&L forecasting across our platform.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, design, and finance stakeholders to develop accurate, scalable, and user-friendly tools.
  • Drive adoption and engagement via in-product education, tutorials, and feature rollout strategies to support user self-sufficiency and promote key functionalities.
  • Analyze and interpret forecast results, identifying trends, variances, and actionable insights to enhance decision-making and financial performance.
  • Design and implement data infrastructure to deliver efficient, end-to-end data pipelines for forecasting and reporting products.

Qualifications
You have:
  • 6+ years of experience in product management, consulting, data science or comparable experience.
  • Experience working in an agile environment using advanced analytics tools like SQL, R, Python.
  • Strong understanding of forecasting models, time-series analysis, AI/ML applications and customer segmentation methodologies.
  • Understanding how changes in the economic environment and monetary policy influence consumer spending and saving behaviors.
  • Executive polish, and the ability to communicate complex topics in a concise manner with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience in project management, maintaining an organized backlog and deliverables simultaneously.

Nice to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Data Science, Statistics or a related field.
