This team focuses on building core experiences that keep shoppers informed, engaged, and coming back across notifications and onsite touchpoints. Whether it's helping a shopper stay on top of their saved searches or building confidence with dealership reviews, your work will shape how millions of users interact with the CarGurus marketplace. What you'll do
- Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for key areas of the consumer engagement experience
- Partner with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Marketing, and Data Science to build and launch user-centric features that improve engagement and drive lead generation
- Balance long-term vision with rapid experimentation, leveraging multivariate testing and behavioral data to iterate quickly
- Collaborate closely with Marketing stakeholders to align on messaging, brand voice, campaign strategy, and performance goals
- Champion the consumer experience, identifying pain points and unmet needs through data and research, then translating these insights into impactful, user-centered product improvements to define what great consumer engagement looks like at CarGurus
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in consumer-facing, marketplace, or e-commerce environments
- Demonstrated success shipping consumer-facing products in fast-paced, agile settings
- Experience working closely with Marketing, CRM, or lifecycle teams - bonus if you've worked on growth, personalization, notifications, or user-generated content while balancing user value with monetization or performance marketing goals
- Analytical rigor: You're comfortable digging into data, setting KPIs, and using experimentation to inform decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when aligning cross-functional partners around a roadmap
- Empathy for users and a desire to solve real-world problems that have measurable business impact
- A bias toward action, levity, and a sense of humor
- Bonus: Exposure to messaging architecture, notification systems, or marketing automation tools
