Who We Are

🏔Product: TLDR exists to increase tech's signal-to-noise ratio.

Today that means the largest network of tech newsletters in the world, with over 8M subscribers covering startups, software engineering, AI, cybersecurity, product, and more.

What makes it work is who writes it. Every issue comes from people building in tech, not reporters covering it. Our writers keep their day jobs: two engineers at Coinbase write TLDR Crypto, engineers at DeepMind and Meta write TLDR Dev, researchers at Anthropic and Adobe write TLDR AI, and robotics and datacenter strategy leads at OpenAI and Meta write TLDR Hardware.

If it matters in tech, it's in TLDR. That's what makes TLDR the best place to find what you need to learn.

💪Team: Our 30-person full-time team includes alumni of Google, Amazon, TikTok, Reddit. We've stayed intentionally small, which means every person here owns a function rather than a slice of one.

📈Traction: We're bootstrapped, profitable, and on track for $35M in revenue this year - after $9M in 2024 and $20M in 2025. The advertisers who fund it want tech's decision-makers: AWS, Google Cloud, Anthropic, Slack, Notion, and GitHub.

About the Role

TLDR's Applied AI team builds the agent-first operating layer the company runs on: the internal platform, skills, managed agents, and command centers used daily by every team at TLDR. Demand is compounding across every function, and today all triage and product judgment sits with one person.

This is our first dedicated PM hire!

In this role, you will:

  • Reimagine how our company should run in an AI-native world. The team's north star is to make sure that every process at the company improves as models improve.

  • Take human-in-the-loop processes and reimplement them as agents that are reliable enough to be teammates.

  • Partner with engineers on our software factory so specs increasingly self-deploy.

  • Hold the seam with our Strategy & Ops team: they own what a process needs to do today, you own what its agentic version looks like.

What Success Looks Like
  • Every process at TLDR improves as model capabilties improve.

  • More work looks like building evals / specs and deciding what good looks like rather than repetitive clicking and typing.

About You
  • 3+ years as a product manager

  • Hands-on experience building AI-native products or workflows: you've shipped something real with LLMs or agents, not sat next to a team that did.

  • Nice to have: productizing internal processes, running high-volume multi-stakeholder intake, or working close to GTM.

You’ll Thrive Here If…
  • You're at home in ambiguity and prefer owning a whole problem to executing a defined roadmap.

  • You have real taste for what to automate, what stays human, and where agents can't yet be trusted.

  • You can hold a prioritization spine under pressure and say no to senior stakeholders, up to the CEO, without formal authority.

  • You'd rather decompose a messy human process than ship another feature, and you measure yourself on adoption rather than launch.

  • You want your work used company-wide from day one, with live telemetry and demand already waiting.

Why You'll Love It

🤑 Compensation:

  • Base compensation: $180,000-$225,000

  • Annual company performance bonus: $40,000 - $60,000

🌎 Location: We're 100% remote across the US and Canada. Work where you want - our bands are set to tier-1 city rates wherever you live.

🤝 Team Events: Biannual team offsites. Most recently we’ve gone to New Orleans, San Diego and Park City!

🏝️ Time to Recharge: Flexible PTO. Most of the team takes 2–3 weeks a year, plus holidays.

🏥 Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits with a 100% paid option

📈 401(k) Plan: Empower 401(k)

🍼 Paid Parental Leave

💻 Home Office Stipend: Whatever makes you productive - standing desk, second monitor, chair, walking pad.

🔰 Learning & Development Stipend: For anything that makes you better at your work, and for AI tools especially. Don't ration your tokens.

📥 If you're ready to make a real dent at a bootstrapped, profitable company, apply. Tell us if you need any accommodation at any point in the process.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
