Cash App operates as a distributed, remote-first team, with hubs and offices across global markets. While remote by design, we emphasize intentional in-person collaboration through regular onsites to drive high-quality execution and velocity.
The Role
We're hiring a visionary Product Lead for Shopping to reimagine how customers discover, explore, and shop through Afterpay. Starting with core markets in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Canada, this role will lead the evolution of Afterpay from a transactional BNPL utility into a personalized, engaging, and high-value shopping destination.
This U.S.-based role (PST preferred) is embedded in the Cash App Afterpay Commerce development team, working closely with engineering, design, marketing, and regional leads to deliver impactful global experiences for both consumers and merchants.
You Will
  • Own the Product Strategy & Roadmap
    • Define and lead the end-to-end strategy for the Afterpay Shopping experience, serving millions of global users.
    • Deepen engagement and retention with feature-rich, high-utility, and personalized product experiences.
    • Identify and prioritize the most valuable problems to solve using customer insights, product analytics, and market trends.
  • Deliver Impactful Products
    • Drive full lifecycle product development-from 0→1 new feature innovation to reimagining core shopping flows supporting billions in GMV.
    • Leverage AI-powered personalization and agentic experiences (e.g., tailored recommendations, intelligent search).
    • Strengthen Afterpay's customer value proposition while unlocking new revenue streams (e.g., Cashback offers & rewards, advertising, checkout add-ons).
  • Expand Global Reach
    • Prioritize scalable platform enhancements that can serve multiple markets, starting with Australia and extending into New Zealand, the UK, Canada, and eventually the U.S

  • Australia App Core Enhancements: Redesign the search and browse experience, elevate merchant visibility, and improve category/shop discovery.
  • Personalized Recommendations: Build and launch recommendation engines based on user profiles and purchase behavior.
  • Feature Innovation: Introduce features like Cashback and discount offers, agentic shopping experiences, and real-time shopping alerts to drive incremental spend.

You Have
  • 8+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years in a senior individual contributor role.
  • Expertise in building high-scale, consumer-facing products in commerce, fintech, payments, or social mobile apps.
  • Strong track record of navigating high-ambiguity, high-impact domains, with the ability to define and execute focused bets.
  • Comfortable operating independently in matrixed, global organizations, collaborating across functions and time zones.
  • Sharp product sense, backed by a data fluency, analytical mindset and deep empathy for customers.
  • Passion for commerce, shopping, and the BNPL ecosystem.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to align and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally at least twice annually for collaboration and launches.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
