About You
The Product Development & Marketing Associate, Promotions will manage promotional development projects including research, concept, development, and commercialization of new product promotions, swag, kits and bundles for all channels including dotcom, retail and our professional business.
This role reports to the Senior Manager of Product Development & Marketing of Topicals and will work closely with cross functional partners across Sales Teams, Retention Marketing, Growth Marketing, Brand Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory & Quality Assurance, Packaging Engineering and Creative and will be the day to day promo program point of contact internally and externally, managing new developments and optimizations in an accelerated timeline.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and execution of strategic promotional programs, including employee merch, Gift with Purchase (GWP) offers, sets, and other initiatives, ensuring a pipeline of fresh and new assortment offerings each year.
- Own and maintain promotional development timelines and calendars for all new developments across all channels, keeping the internal team, external vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders aligned and on schedule.
- Maintain and update promotional, swag, kit, and GWP assortments with the latest quantities, lead times, and pricing.
- Ensure that promo tactics align with target segments and coordinate with sales, events and campaigns to support channel tentpole moments.
- In partnership with the Senior Manager, establish promo pricing, bundle strategies, and channel alignment to ensure a seamless cross-channel experience.
- Lead the day-to-day communication and management with our key promotional vendors.
- Create comprehensive briefs for new kits, packaging and promotional concepts, including creative inspiration, trend research and examples that will make each promo unique and specifically suited for the channel or promotional period.
- Run financial analyses to ensure projects are coming in at or below budget and present to leadership for approval.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain, Project Management, and Packaging Engineering teams on sourcing packaging materials and make optimizations to existing evergreen items, while keeping sustainability top of mind.
- Collect all samples for the team and management and ensure approvals in a timely manner.
- Diligently proof all artwork and copy of all promotional packaging to align with consistency, regulatory requirements, grammar and messaging alignment.
- Collect, analyze and interpret data from previous promotions to identify learnings and provide strategic recommendations to optimize future initiatives.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in product development within one or more of the following categories: CPG, wellness, beauty and/or cosmetic
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end development timelines and drive cross-functional project execution from concept to launch
- An understanding of packaging development timelines and kitting
- Experience sourcing and qualifying packaging components
- Familiar with the nutraceutical skin and haircare space and the competitive landscape
- Strong communication skills and willingness to be fully hands-on
- Able to work efficiently and cross-functionally as a team player
- Flexible and easily adapts to change
- Organized and extremely detailed oriented
- Self starter with examples of being proactive to deliver towards aggressive timelines
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and/or a passion for sustainability
- Understanding of working with retail channels is a plus
