Vibes is looking for a Product Designer to work alongside product managers, engineers and design peers to craft amazing customer product experiences and user workflows in our mobile messaging platform. The ideal candidate for this role is energized by setting a vision for the product experience, using research and data to validate assumptions and designing efficient and intuitive user experiences. 

This is a full-time position based in the greater Chicago metro area, reporting to the Senior Director of Product Design. In 2025, Vibes was recognized as a Built In Best Place to Work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX design & discovery for web-based B2B2C product experience(s) 
  • Partner with product & CS team members, ensuring both qualitative (including usability tests and other discovery sessions with internal stakeholders and customers) and quantitative (via platform usage metrics & analytics) data are used to support design decisions 
  • Deliver user-centered flows, journey maps, wireframes with annotated specifications and clickable prototypes for product features 
  • Lead design discussions and collaborations between cross-functional agile teams, including product managers, engineers and customer strategy team members 
  • Effectively conceptualize, communicate, and support your design ideas to stakeholders 
  • Contribute to building a strong design culture that highlights a user-centric approach 
  • Collaborate with other members of the design team to maintain and evolve our design system, including styles, patterns and components 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3- 5  years’ experience as a product designer with expert-level user-centered design practices
  • Experience designing B2B digital enterprise products/web applications
  • Experience working within an agile or lean software development lifecycle 
  • Independently run design discovery processes (such as Design Sprints, Journey Mapping, etc) 
  • Proficient in Figma (our standard design tool) 
  • Can quickly wireframe page mockups using a design system 
  • Can create a clickable prototype (lo-fi & mid-level) 
  • Can create, share & find files within a project 
  • Sharp analytical skills, thinking strategically, and looking at the details within a wider context including where the company is heading and how competitors are shifting across the playing field
  • Ability to work independently and effect change in an evolving environment 
  • Comfort launching and iterating quickly and using data to drive decisions 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience using prototyping tools (specifically Figma) and understanding the design process 
  • Experience of working within collaborative teams (with design, product & customer success) 

Nice to haves: 

  • Experience designing products for technical users 
  • Basic knowledge of APIs, authentication practices, and developer tools 
  • Experience with JIRA 
  • Knowledge of mobile messaging practices & provisioning

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Vibes offers a full slate of benefits from competitive salaries, options, medical, dental and vision coverage, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, 10 paid holidays, flexible vacation, summer Fridays, Winter Holiday break, commuter benefits, a 401(k) plan and match, and a paid parental leave program.
