Head of Product Design – Own the UX That Connects the Trades

TradeEngage is the first b2b referral management platform for home services. We are a dedicated platform powering job referrals, workflows, and payments between local home services businesses. Our mission is to keep value in the hands of the people who actually do the work. We believe local should win, that reputation scales, and that trust closes more deals.

Launched in 2024, we’re working with the largest home services companies in the country. We’re looking for a Product Designer to help shape the future of our platform—someone who thinks in systems, obsesses over flows and leveraging AI, and isn’t afraid to get into the weeds with customers and engineers to deliver the tools the industry deserves.

Why You Might Be a Fit

  • You’re a builder—you’ve designed full product flows from the ground-up
  • You have experience and background in marketplaces, B2B SaaS, and/or gamification
  • Bonus if you have experience in home or commercial services software (think HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical)
  • You’re sharp, scrappy, detail-oriented, and ready to take on something challenging —with outsized professional and financial upside

What You’ll Do

  • You’ll be working directly with the founders, who have experience at top investment banks, private equity firms, and building some of the world’s largest B2B marketplaces.
  • Create high-fidelity Figma flows, interactive prototypes, and complex user journeys
  • Lead customer research, usability testing, and direct feedback loops from the trades
  • Use AI tools to prototype faster and turn ideas into live workflows
  • Shape our design system and influence product and UX strategy

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of product design experience
  • A portfolio showing deep UX thinking
  • Experience with messaging tools, enterprise software, or workflow-heavy products
  • Comfortable with mobile-first, accessible, high-performance design
  • Someone who is hardworking, devoted and passionate for building from 0→1

What We Offer

  • Significant performance-based upside that aligns to the Company's success (equity & bonus)
  • Backing by the biggest names in Home Services
  • In-person or remote in the U.S.(with occasional travel to Miami Beach to jam with team)
  • Smart, mission-driven teammates who’ve built unicorns and scaled B2B marketplaces

If you’re ready to help build what the trades have always deserved, send your resume and portfolio to [email protected].

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
