Raw Materials

Raw Materials is an unusual design company. We were founded to bring much-needed unusual and creative thinking to the world of digital products and brand design.

In a world where everything is beginning to feel and behave the same, our mission is to make the different.

We are seeking non-conformists, artists, perfectionists, and the craft obsessed. The ones who believe they can do better. We want to find the best talent in the world and give them a home. A place that will help them make the best work of their lives. And we want to surround them with others who are just as passionate about the quality of their work as they are.

To make the different we need the different.

Product Designer

Product designers are one of the most important raw materials of raw materials. They are the ones holding the pen and bearing the responsibility for bringing to the world the work of a whole team.

They are magnificent and curious problem solvers — With the imagination of a poet and the rigor of a mathematician, Just as comfortable in the world of art or technology.

A product designer’s first responsibility is to their users and the world their designs will shape — knowing this, they are keen students of the human condition and the systems that drive life.

The product designers at Raw Materials are expected to be incredibly meticulous craftspersons and high-concept thinkers. We seek the ones who can think big and act small — The ones who will push clients and products forward with fresh and unusual thinking and also apply that to everything they make.

Here are some examples of things we expect product designers to be able to do/have.

Meticulous visual design

→ An understanding of motion and other surrounding visual disciplines.

→ An understanding of how code works, if not the ability to write code yourself.

→ Prototyping. You find ways to bring your ideas to life to inspire others to follow and share your vision.

→ An optimistic, can-do, problem-solving mindset.

→ A good grasp of the cultural landscape.

→ An appreciation for different cultures, different disciplines, and an innate curiosity about everything.

→ The ability to bring folks along with your way of thinking, both clients and colleagues.

→ The ability to think both systematically and poetically. Comfort dabbling in both imagination and logic.

→ Experience understanding research and data and using them to inform your thinking.

Nothing beats a conversation and a look over some work if this is you, if you are intrigued if you want to know more, if you want to make different work and work with people trying to push themselves to do the best of their lives. Call us. We want to work with you.

To make the different, we need the different.

Love,

Raw Materials.
