💻 Role
We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our Trust & Risk team—someone who’s passionate about creating thoughtful, scalable systems that protect and empower our community. In this role, you’ll design tools, workflows, and user experiences that help identify and prevent abuse, enforce platform policies fairly, and support users throughout their safety journeys—from proactive education to responsive resolution.

You’ll partner closely with product designers, product managers, engineers, operations, data scientists, and policy experts to build solutions that balance safety, speed, and user trust—whether you're designing an appeals experience, reviews, internal enforcement tooling, or real-time interventions during live shows.

  • Design end-to-end experiences that protect the integrity of the platform while minimizing friction for good users

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex policies and workflows into intuitive product experiences

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and final visuals that bring clarity to ambiguous trust and safety problems

  • Contribute to the broader design system while advocating for accessibility and inclusive user experiences.

  • Use data, research, and feedback to iterate on existing tools and identify areas for improvement

  • Support the internal teams who moderate content, review reports, and resolve user issues with efficient and usable tooling

👋 You

Curious about who thrives at Whatnot? We’ve found that embodying a low ego, growth mindset, and high-impact drive goes a long way here.

As our next Product Designer, you should have 4+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally including work on trust, safety, compliance, or integrity teams, plus:

  • Strong interaction and systems thinking—you can untangle complex flows and design for edge cases

  • Strong Portfolio that demonstrates your experience.

  • Expertise in design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Protopie, Framer, etc.).

  • Deep understanding of user experience design principles and methodologies, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
