🌐 Product Designer – Network Tools

Location: Remote US

Team: Helium Network

Type: Freelance Contract, part-time, ~20 hours/week

🚀 About the Helium Network

The Helium Network is the world’s first decentralized wireless network — owned and operated by the people. At Nova Labs’ Network business, our mission is to provide open, affordable, and accessible connectivity, powered by community infrastructure. Tools like Helium Builder App and Helium World help users deploy, explore, and manage the Helium ecosystem more effectively.
We’re looking for a freelance Product Designer to help with design work for our Network business — someone passionate about developer tools, user experience, and designing interfaces that demystify complex systems. You’ll help us shape the future of Helium through intuitive and powerful experiences that empower a global network of builders.
This is a part-time, independent contractor role with an estimated commitment of 20 hours weekly.

👀 What You’ll Do

  • Design UX/UI experiences across Helium’s ecosystem tools like Builder App, Helium World, and other upcoming network products
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and community stakeholders to bring clarity and usability to data-dense interfaces
  • Create user flows, mockups, prototypes, and final assets using tools like Figma
  • Translate complex network and protocol concepts into intuitive visual design
  • Maintain and evolve design systems that support both technical and non-technical user experiences
  • Collaborate with the product team to shape the user journey from onboarding to long-term utility and exploration
  • Bonus: Explore motion or micro-interactions to improve navigation and feature discoverability

🧠 What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience designing web or mobile tools, dashboards, or developer-centric products
  • A portfolio showcasing thoughtful interaction design, usability, and a strong sense of visual hierarchy
  • Proficiency with Figma and prototyping tools
  • Comfort working in cross-functional teams and iterating quickly
  • Ability to understand technical constraints and translate them into design opportunities
  • Curiosity about decentralized technology, connectivity, or community-led networks
  • Bonus: Experience with data visualization or motion design

🌈 Why Freelance with Nova Labs?

  • Contribute to the world’s first user-built wireless network
  • Design tools that empower a global community of deployers, developers, and curious explorers
  • Collaborate with a tight-knit, mission-driven team shaping the future of decentralized infrastructure
  • Access a unique opportunity at the intersection of crypto, connectivity, and community

💸 Compensation

  • This is an at-will, 1099 independent contractor position
  • Rate is $75–$100 per hour, depending on experience
  • Estimated weekly time commitment of 20 hours (with potential to increase as business needs evolve)
  • Contract length: 12 months
  • 100% remote – work from anywhere

Please note: All offers are contingent on the successful completion of a background check.

📬 Ready to Apply?

Send your resume, a few examples of your work (portfolio or case studies), and a brief note on why you’re excited about designing for the Helium Network.
Be sure to let us know how you design for communities — not just interfaces. 🌍
