We are looking for a Product Data Analyst to support key product initiatives across the third-party administrator (TPA) and Provider network solutions at Lantern. This role sits in the Product organization with a core focus on enabling the data driven initiatives within TPA, Health Plan enablement and Provider roadmap.  The ideal candidate combines a strong product mindset as well as hands-on technical skills and expertise, and will work closely with data engineering, data governance and data operations teams to build analytics and insights dashboards, enable data pipelines, workflow automation and experimentation frameworks. The analyst excels at ingesting and transforming multiple fragmented data sets into clear, actionable insights.
The Product Data Analyst shall apply specialized knowledge of modern analytics stack including Microsoft Azure Stack, Python, R, Excel, PowerBI, Databricks, and Snowflake to conceptualize, design, develop, unit-test, configure, and implement business intelligence and data insight solutions.   The person will work closely with product managers and technical leads and interact with internal and external stakeholders. This person will also be responsible for generating requirements and technical documentation as needed; conforming to security and quality standards; and staying current on emerging trends.
Successful candidates will:

  • Have hands on experience working with and transforming multiple healthcare data sets and familiarity with clearing house and data exchange standards
  • Be comfortable with researching data questions, identify root causes, and interact closely with business users and technical resources on various data related decisions
  • Leverage analysis skills to discern, unlock, and communicate insights out to decision makers at all levels of the business
  • Have experience in creating robust and automated pipelines to ingest and process structured and unstructured data sources into analytical platforms using batch and streaming mechanisms leveraging a cloud native toolset
  • Leverage the right tools for the right job to deliver testable, maintainable, and modern data solutions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support roadmap initiatives across Product neighborhoods with an initial focus on our TPA, Payor and Provider products, collaborate across neighborhoods to support key initiatives
  • Centralize fragmented data (internal and external) as integrate well external data sources into our core data set
  • Analyze data, create logic to support products, deliver actionable insights to support and drive operational and strategic initiatives
  • Help build and monitor key pipelines, build validations, and champion automation tooling as needed
  • Analyze, drive insights from, and bolster both the member and provider experience journey
  • Champion and execute A/B testing on key initiatives
  • Write dashboards and reports that are intuitive, clear, clean, and easy to understand.
  • Document requirements and translate into proper system requirements specifications using high-maturity methods, processes and tools.
  • Execute and coordinate requirements and change management processes.
  • Design, prepare and execute unit tests.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams.
  • Develops innovative team solutions to complex problems.
  • Integrates technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for clients.
  • Consults with team members and other organizations, clients and vendors on complex issues.
  • Special projects as requested

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in data analytics, preferably in product or healthcare environments.
  • Expertise in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), SQL, and data pipeline monitoring.
  • Experience with healthcare standards and data formats (e.g. 837, 270/271) and provider data sources
  • Experience working with data lake, data fabric and tools like Data Bricks
  • Strong understanding of experimentation, funnel analysis, and engagement metrics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. A master’s degree in engineering, analytics, data science or related field a plus.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in data analysis, preferably related U.S. healthcare, using core data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, and Excel
  • 4+ years of experience with Big Data technologies including Databricks, PySpark, Python, and varying types of Azure Storage, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau or similar experience.
  • 4+ years of performing data engineering/ETL operations, preferably with Azure Data Factory
  • 4+ years of data warehouse experience, preferably with the Snowflake data platform
  • 4+ years of experience in SQL and be able to write complex logic using SQL as part of ETL, and use SQL effectively to perform complex data analysis and discovery
  • Demonstrate strong organization skills and detail-oriented
  • Experience with CMD shell and PowerShell
  • Experience with large-scale, complex data environments
  • Ability to self-motivate and meet deadlines
  • Intense desire to learn
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
