DESCRIPTION

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing legal team and work closely with our product, engineering, information systems, and strategic partnership teams to support the continued development of our product. Reporting to our Chief Legal Officer, you’ll serve as the go-to-legal advisor on product development and privacy compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advise product and engineering teams throughout the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring product features and designs comply with the company’s IP policies and applicable laws, including privacy, intellectual property, AL/ML use, and consumer protection and other relevant regulations
  • Proactively identify legal risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Partner with security and privacy teams to ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other global data protection laws
  • Draft and update product-related terms of service, privacy policies and end-user agreements
  • Monitor and analyze new and evolving regulations affecting Saas and financial services to ensure continued compliance and best practices, in collaboration with the regulatory counsel
REQUIREMENTS
  • Experienced legal strategist with at least 7 years of legal experience, including a combination of experiences in-house at a SaaS or technology company and law firm.
  • Strong foundation in product counseling, intellectual property, and global privacy laws
  • Must be admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state or the District of Columbia. Active bar membership in the jurisdiction where the position is based (or eligibility for in-house counsel registration) is required.
  • Product-savvy legal partner. You’ve served as a trusted advisor to product, engineering, and information security teams, offering practical legal guidance throughout the product development lifecycle. 
  • The role will involve significant collaboration with regulatory counsel and integration of regulatory compliance into our products
  • Plus:
    • Previous experience managing IP portfolios
    • Previous experience leading privacy programs that comply with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other global data protection laws
    • Hold certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or similar credentials that demonstrate your expertise in data privacy
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and incident response obligations
