Job Overview:

We're looking for a Product & Content Marketing Specialist/Strategist to support the messaging and content engine behind RectorSeal's product launches and campaigns. You'll work closely with an Associate Product Marketing Manager and the Brand & Content Marketing team, helping translate technical product information into contractor-relevant messaging and helping produce the content that gets that message to market.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone early in their product and content marketing career who wants to build real strategic skill. You'll contribute to messaging frameworks under guidance and take ownership of day-to-day content production, with an experienced marketer reviewing your strategic work and coaching you toward greater autonomy over time.

You'll also be a regular AI content operator — using AI tools daily to draft and iterate quickly, then applying editorial judgment and feedback from your manager to make sure output is right for a trades audience.

Travel: This role is fully remote with occasional travel required — estimated 2–4 trips annually for team alignment, trade shows, or launch-related travel as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

Messaging & Positioning — Supporting the Factory Floor

  • Support development of messaging frameworks and value proposition documents for product launches, under the direction of the Associate Product Marketing Manager or Sr. Director
  • Participate in messaging discovery sessions with Product Managers, capturing and organizing differentiation, proof points, and use-case detail
  • Draft first-pass translations of technical specifications into contractor-relevant benefit language for manager review
  • Help maintain and organize messaging documentation so the team always has a current source of truth

Content Production — AI-Accelerated

  • Produce content across formats — campaign emails, sell sheets, sales presentations, website copy, social content, trade ad copy, and channel communications — against established messaging frameworks
  • Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent) as your primary first-draft engine, following the team's existing prompt library and workflows
  • Edit and elevate AI-generated content, applying feedback from senior team members and QA'ing against brand and trade-audience standards
  • Support briefing of creative and design resources with messaging inputs provided by your manager

Sales Enablement Support

  • Help maintain the sales enablement asset library — tracking what exists, what's current, and what needs refresh
  • Support delivery of complete enablement packages for launches, ensuring assets are ready before market availability

Go-to-Market & Launch Execution Support

  • Support execution of content launch plans, coordinating timeline inputs across Product Management, Channel Marketing, and Sales
  • Own assigned NPL content deliverables from Gate 1 through market availability, with direction from your manager
  • Provide launch content status updates and confirmed inputs to the integrated marketing calendar on schedule

Brand & Category Support

  • Assist with drafting thought leadership content and coordinating SME interviews
  • Support brand guidance requests on packaging, merchandising, and trade show materials as directed

Performance & Optimization

  • Track content performance metrics — email open/click rates, asset utilization, launch content completeness
  • Flag AI output quality issues and help refine the prompt library
  • Project manage your own assigned assets to hit New Product Launch deliverable timelines
  • Take feedback from internal and external stakeholders and apply it systematically

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of B2B marketing experience, ideally with some exposure to product marketing or content production

Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong writer with a demonstrated willingness to learn messaging and positioning frameworks
  • Comfortable using AI writing tools daily, with interest in building stronger prompting skill over time
  • Portfolio that includes finished, market-facing content (campaign emails, sell sheets, product copy)
  • Detail-oriented and organized — able to manage multiple deadlines with guidance from a manager
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with product managers, channel partners, sales, and creative resources

Preferred Requirements:

  • HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or adjacent trades/industrial manufacturing background
  • Exposure to a rep → distributor → contractor or similarly indirect channel model
  • Familiarity with NPL or stage-gate launch processes
  • Familiarity with DAM systems (Bynder or equivalent) or sales enablement platforms
  • 4-year degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

    What We're NOT Looking For

    • Consumer or lifestyle brand marketers who haven't made the B2B trades shift — this audience buys on performance and specificity, not aspiration
    • Candidates who define “content strategy” as a blog calendar and a social schedule
    • AI skeptics who resist using it as a core production tool
    • Candidates expecting a fully autonomous strategic role from day one — this role grows into that with experience and coaching
    • Writers who treat the messaging document as someone else's job

    Reporting & Cross-Functional Relationships

    • Reports to: Associate Product Marketing Manager, with dotted-line guidance from the Sr. Director, Brand & Content Marketing
    • Partners closely with: Product Management, Channel Marketing, Creative Manager, Vietnam design team
    • Serves as: day-to-day content production support for product launches and campaigns across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical categories; grows into greater messaging ownership as product and channel knowledge deepens

    Compensation:

RectorSeal has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the CSWI Board of Directors.
