Do you want to be a part of the clean energy movement? Are you passionate about improving our environment for this generation and those to follow? Are you ready to take on new challenges and collaborate with a future-focused team leading the way into new markets? Join Nexamp!

This is where you can learn from industry leaders and become one yourself. It's fast-paced, mission-based work that challenges the status quo. Be on the team that's changing the world.

What we’re looking for:

Nexamp is looking to hire an Associate Product Manager to join the Product & Technology team. In this role, you will help develop the tools that support our operations and serve as the backbone for our customer billing experience. You’ll be supporting more senior members of the product team to start, but we aim to develop you into a fully independent, impact-driving product manager over time.

You will be hybrid out of Boston and report to the Principal Product Manager.

What you’ll do:

During your first two weeks, you’ll be expected to listen to customers' calls 50% of your time to help you understand common Nexamp customer problems and kickstart a healthy habit that’ll set you up for future success in your role. You’ll also learn all about our consumer-facing billing propositions and how our internal tooling enables them.

  • You’ll start with tackling ad-hoc projects related to customer billing to give you sufficient context of the various parts of the internal tooling ecosystem that impact the customer experience.
  • You’ll become a key liaison between our CX and Product teams, supporting documentation of features and processes on both sides and act as a champion for data management best practices to ensure our internal operations support the right customer experience.
  • Identify and understand key user problems, document them, and make the connection to tangible customer and business problems.
  • You’ll help build out the backlog by coordinating and performing user interviews, concept/usability testing, observation sessions, and diving into data via our business intelligence tools (SQL fluency highly desirable).
  • Help develop business cases to invest in certain capabilities (and not others) by leveraging data and qualitative insights.
  • Communicate your findings and research to align teams on the right problems to solve, and why.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, internal stakeholders, and other product managers to develop solutions to those problems.
  • Translate those high-level solutions and designs into user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria, and ensure that the reality meets the vision during user acceptance testing.
  • Track and report on product health metrics and feature performance.
  • Run agile ceremonies (project kickoffs, standup, grooming, retro).

What you’ll bring:

  • 1+ years of experience as an associate product manager or data analyst, or equivalent experience working with quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.

If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, but see yourself contributing, please apply.

At Nexamp, our mission is to build the future of energy so it is clean, simple, and accessible for all. We are committed to providing a work environment free from discrimination. This includes our competitive compensation package; a 401(k) employer-match; health, dental, and vision insurance starting day one; flexible paid time off and holiday PTO; commuter benefits, and cell phone reimbursement. We have headquarters in Boston, MA and Chicago, IL, in addition to growing offices nationwide. We provide healthy snacks, coffee, service days and other volunteer opportunities, company outings, and more!

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
