This is a remote position.

A client-facing production role that turns NGO and charity briefs into compelling human stories from around the world, told by the people who lived them.

Organization: Confidential client in the media sector
Location: Fully remote
Role Type: Full-time | Consultant-contractor

The opportunity

Our client is looking for a producer to help deliver exceptional video content for its partners, working closely with clients and the people whose stories are told. Most partners are NGOs and charities, including organizations such as Oxfam, World Vision and UNICEF, alongside extensive work in the Muslim charitable sector and other industries.

You will work within the partnered content team, turning creative ideas and client briefs into compelling human stories. You will be a regular point of contact for clients: keeping them updated, gathering feedback, understanding their priorities and making sure the brief is delivered. You will also work directly with the people closest to each story, including NGO field officers, local teams, community organizations, beneficiaries and rights holders, building trust, finding strong contributors and helping people share their experiences in their own words.

A typical project might involve speaking with a client about their campaign, working with a field officer to identify a contributor, interviewing that person, remotely guiding their filming and briefing an editor, then managing client feedback through to final delivery.

About the organization

Our client is a media company that helps the 99% be seen by empowering people to tell their own stories, because traditional media focuses on the 1%. Its partnered content team produces human-centered films for NGOs, charities and other organizations around the world.

What you will do

  • Understand client briefs, campaign objectives, deliverables and deadlines, and maintain regular client communication, sharing progress and raising questions or problems early.
  • Work with NGO teams and community stakeholders to identify meaningful human stories, build trust with contributors, and clearly explain each project and how their content will be used.
  • Research stories and conduct thoughtful, sensitive interviews.
  • Remotely guide contributors and field teams to capture strong footage using mobile phones.
  • Prepare story outlines, filming briefs and edit scripts, with support from the creative team.
  • Brief editors and coordinate footage, translations, subtitles and other production materials.
  • Bring together client feedback and turn it into clear, practical instructions for the team.
  • Track approvals, revisions and delivery so everyone knows what is needed next.
  • Check facts, names, translations and final assets before delivery, and help ensure every film meets the brief while representing contributors accurately and with dignity.

What you bring

  • Experience producing social media video, digital journalism, branded content or NGO storytelling.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.
  • The organization to manage several projects, contributors and deadlines at once.
  • Interview skills and a genuine interest in people's lives.
  • Experience working with user-generated footage or remotely directing contributors.
  • An understanding of social video storytelling, including hooks, pacing and audience retention.
  • The ability to interpret a brief, ask useful questions and follow through on the details.
  • Cultural sensitivity when working across countries, languages and communities.
  • Good editorial judgement, attention to accuracy and care when handling sensitive stories.

Helpful, but not essential

Experience working with NGOs, charities, field teams or community organizations is especially valuable.

How the engagement works
  • You will contract directly with Apricot, which manages contracting, invoicing/payroll, payments, and administrative support.
  • Contracting arrangements, monthly compensation, time-zone overlap and the exact start date will be confirmed before an offer.
  • Your work will be based on the agreed scope and deliverables.
  • You are expected to provide your own laptop and basic equipment, maintain reliable connectivity and a secure working environment, and follow required security controls, including two-factor authentication.
  • You will collaborate with the client's distributed production and editorial teams.
  • We welcome candidates from different backgrounds and lived experiences, and selection is based on the requirements of the role.
