We believe in the power of integrity, innovation, collaboration, and pragmatic solutions. Our diverse team thrives on challenges and is united by a shared commitment to excellence. We take pride in tackling complex challenges with curiosity, humility, and a deep sense of care for one another.

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our growing team. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing day-to-day activities related to shipping, receiving, inventory control, purchasing, and material movement. This role ensures that materials, components, and supplies are ordered, received, stored, tracked, and shipped accurately and efficiently in support of HyperLight’s manufacturing and commercialization of TFLN photonics technology.

Key Responsibilities

·       Create, process, and manage purchase orders for materials, components, supplies, and services throughout the full PO lifecycle: issuance, confirmation, expediting, receipt, and closure

·       Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotes; compare pricing, lead times, availability, and terms to support cost-effective procurement decisions

·       Communicate with vendors on pricing, availability, order status, lead times, and delivery schedules; build and maintain positive working relationships with key suppliers

·       Monitor open purchase orders and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery; identify supply risks and escalate to management promptly

·       Assist with sourcing alternative suppliers and substitute materials when primary sources are unavailable, non-compliant, or non-competitive

·       Review and resolve invoice, pricing, quantity, and receiving discrepancies in coordination with Finance and the Logistics Manager

·       Maintain accurate supplier records, pricing history, and procurement documentation in the ERP system; prepare reports on open orders, spend, and supplier performance

·       Support the Senior Procurement & Sourcing Manager in strategic sourcing initiatives, RFQ/RFP processes, and supplier evaluation activities

·       Uphold ethics and integrity in all procurement activities: adhere to HyperLight’s anti-bribery, anti-corruption, conflict of interest, and supplier code of conduct policies; ensure all vendor dealings are conducted with fairness and transparency

·       Coordinate domestic and international shipments, prepare shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, labels), and liaise with carriers when the Logistics Manager is on leave or otherwise unavailable

·       Receive and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips; enter receipts accurately into the ERP system when providing logistics coverage

·       Perform basic inventory tasks — cycle counts, stock level monitoring, and discrepancy investigation — in support of the Logistics Manager as required

·       Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, reduce costs, and enhance supplier performance and responsiveness

·       Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

·       2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related field

·       Experience creating and managing purchase orders in an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook

·       Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor relationship management skills

·       High attention to detail and accuracy in PO processing, documentation, and data entry

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and cross-functionally

·       Experience purchasing electronic components, manufacturing materials, or technical products preferred

·       Familiarity with domestic and international shipping, import/export documentation, and logistics processes preferred

·       Experience in a technical hardware or manufacturing environment (semiconductors, photonics, electronics, or advanced manufacturing) preferred

·       Familiarity with ITAR/EAR export regulations a plus, given HyperLight’s technology classification

·       APICS CPIM or equivalent supply chain certification is a plus

Benefits

· Competitive market-based compensation (Pay range of $25 - $33 per hour)

·     Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, vision, and dental plans for individuals and families

·  401(k) retirement plans with employee matching

·  Paid parental leave

·  Life and disability insurance

·  Commuter benefits and subsidies

·  Professional growth and mentorship opportunities
