Description
Responsible for the purchasing of goods and services for the company. Tasked with developing cost-effective strategies for purchasing used in the business by evaluating the needs of projects in VEP’s pipeline and ensuring we have a vendor base that can be leveraged to deliver those projects on time and on budget. Responsible for maintaining relationships with existing vendors, as well as constantly scouting for new vendors. Negotiation and networking are fundamental aspects of maintaining and cultivating these relationships. Must understand current work in progress, manpower availability and financial where-with-all of subcontractors and suppliers. Be adept and fully versed using Pre-Qualification tool in Procore and Procore Bidding Module. 
Responsible for finalizing all purchases, including details related to engineering, cost, and delivery. These details are reviewed with the Preconstruction and Project Management team to guarantee accuracy.
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage all project documents as a function of creating cohesive and complete bid packages. 
  • Prepare bid packages, RFP and RFQ material on a project basis and portfolio level
  • Prepare procurement schedules for individual projects
  • Prepare Scope of Work documents based on available information and collaboration across departments including Project Management, Estimating, Engineering and O&M as needed.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Estimating to create bid packages and level bids.
  • Track procurement across all projects and measure KPI as a function of timeliness.
  • Track procurement of all goods and services on a project basis and attainment of financial goals as a KPI
  • Receive, descope and level all bids received and prepare leveling documents and spreadsheets for Executive review. 
  • Prepare award recommendations, letters of intent, purchase orders and or subcontractor agreements as needed.  
  • Generate and track RFI and submittals through Engineering from Suppliers and Subcontractors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, related field, or combined experience.
