About the Job
We are looking for a Procurement Manager who can manage Taskrabbit’s central procurement activities. This role is responsible for leading sourcing efforts across the company in tech and non-tech purchases. You will be a trusted partner to department leads, ensuring that we make smart purchasing decisions, manage vendor relationships effectively, and support our goals of growth, cost discipline, and business agility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation, contract
    management, and purchase order approval.
  • Develop, implement and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and tools to support
    operational consistency and internal controls.
  • Partner with cross-functional department leaders incl. Legal, Finance, and IT to understand
needs, define sourcing strategies, and execute procurement plans.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and drive value through competitive sourcing, vendor
    consolidation, and contract optimization.
  • Track, evaluate, and manage vendor performance and spend, ensuring quality, delivery, and
    compliance with agreed terms.
  • Enhance procurement documentation, approval workflows, and spend visibility.
  • Own and continuously improve the vendor database and procurement tracking tools (e.g., spend
    dashboards, renewal calendars, etc.).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management, preferably in a fast-
    paced tech or marketplace environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing a wide range of vendors (software/SaaS,
    marketing, corporate services).
  • A working knowledge of procurement systems and processes — bonus points for experience
    implementing or managing procurement tools.
  • Ability to balance process rigor with flexibility and business pragmatism.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. You know how to build partnerships
and influence beyond your direct organizational authority.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and financial acumen. Passion for continuous
improvement and driving efficiency across an organization.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with legal teams on contract terms and risk mitigation.
  • Familiarity with SOX, audit requirements, or internal controls.
  • Procurement experience in an international, multi-entity environment
  • Experience working with privacy, data security, and compliance issues in software procurement
You’ll love working here because:
  • Taskrabbit is a Remote-First Company. We value flexibility and choice but also stay committed to regular in-person connection.
  • The People. You will be surrounded by some of the most talented, supportive, smart, and kind leaders and teams -- people you can be proud to work with!
  • The Diverse Culture. We believe that we make better decisions when our workforce reflects the diversity of the communities in which we operate. Women make up half of our leadership team and our diversity representation is above that of the tech industry average.
  • The Perks. Taskrabbit offers our employees with employer-paid health insurance and a 401k match with immediate vesting for our US based employees. We offer all of our global employees generous and flexible time off with 2 company-wide closure weeks, Taskrabbit product stipends, wellness + productivity + education stipends, IKEA discounts, reproductive health support, and more. Benefits vary by country of employment.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
