Position Title: Procurement Manager (Full Time, Temporary Parental Leave Contract)

Location: Remote from the U.S.

Anticipated Contract Term: Targeting middle-end of September through January, including transition periods before and after the employee’s leave

Reports To: IT Director

#LI-CW1

About the Role:

LTK is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager on a contract basis to provide coverage while a key member of our Procurement function is on leave. This role will help ensure continuity across technology and SaaS procurement, contract renewals, vendor relationships, and related cross-functional activities.

The ideal candidate can quickly learn existing processes, independently manage multiple procurement priorities, and collaborate effectively with Finance, IT, Security, Legal, Privacy, budget owners, and other stakeholders. The contractor will receive training before the leave begins and will support a structured transition of responsibilities when the employee returns.

This position is primarily focused on maintaining business continuity and executing established Procurement responsibilities. Opportunities to recommend practical process improvements may arise, but building a new procurement function is not the primary purpose of the engagement.

How you will make an impact:

  • Leave Coverage and Business Continuity: Assume responsibility for designated Procurement activities during the employee’s leave, maintaining service levels and ensuring requests, agreements, and renewals continue to progress.
  • Contract Renewals: Track upcoming renewals, coordinate with business owners and internal review teams, and complete renewal activities on time and under favorable terms.
  • Contract Negotiations: Lead or support negotiations for technology-focused and SaaS agreements, including pricing, commercial terms, renewal protections, and service commitments.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Partner with Finance, IT, Security, Legal, Privacy, budget owners, and other stakeholders to move procurement requests through the appropriate review and approval processes.
  • Vendor Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for designated vendors, manage follow-ups, address commercial questions, and help ensure vendors meet agreed-upon commitments.
  • Procurement Tracking: Maintain accurate and current records of procurement requests, contract status, renewal dates, decisions, approvals, and next steps.
  • Vendor Selection: Support vendor evaluations and competitive sourcing activities, including reviewing proposals and coordinating input from relevant stakeholders.
  • SaaS Governance and Optimization: Review SaaS purchases and renewals for potential duplication, utilization concerns, consolidation opportunities, and alignment with business needs.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify reasonable opportunities to reduce costs, avoid unnecessary increases, and maximize value while preserving operational requirements.
  • Escalation and Risk Management: Promptly escalate material contractual, financial, legal, security, privacy, or operational risks to the appropriate LTK stakeholder.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Participate in structured training before assuming the role’s responsibilities and provide complete documentation and status updates when transitioning the work back to the returning employee.

What you will bring to LTK:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 2+ years of procurement experience, preferably including experience operating independently in a procurement or equivalent role (buyer, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating technology and SaaS contracts.
  • Strong vendor-management and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience managing contract renewals, procurement workflows, and competing deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of procurement practices and commercial contract terms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn existing processes and become productive within a limited transition period.
  • Experience with procurement or contract-management platforms such as Ironclad or equivalent software.
  • Ability to recognize matters requiring review by Finance, Legal, Security, Privacy, or organizational leadership.
  • Experience supporting IT or technology procurement is strongly preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Negotiation: Secures favorable pricing and commercial terms while balancing business needs, risk, and timelines.
  • Technology and SaaS Procurement: Understands SaaS licensing, pricing, renewal structures, usage considerations, and common vendor contracting models. Experience with major technology providers, such as Amazon Web Services, is beneficial.
  • Vendor Management: Establishes productive vendor relationships and maintains clear accountability for deliverables and follow-up.
  • Analytical Thinking: Evaluates pricing, utilization, contractual obligations, and alternatives to identify savings and value opportunities.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicates clearly with vendors and internal stakeholders and keeps owners informed of status, decisions, risks, and required actions.
  • Organization and Execution: Manages multiple agreements, renewals, stakeholders, and deadlines without losing visibility or momentum.
  • Judgment and Escalation: Works independently within established authority and escalates significant issues to the appropriate LTK decision-maker.
  • Documentation and Transition: Maintains reliable records and delivers an organized handoff at the end of the temporary assignment.
