Private Equity Fund Accounting & Operations– Assistant Manager

This role supervises team members and oversees private equity fund accounting processes, including capital calls, reconciliations, and performance metrics, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising other members of the team and being the main contact for the US team
- Solid technical and working knowledge over fund oversight model, financial and fund accounting, ability to document, justify, and demonstrate complex fund financial, accounting, and fund operation matters.
- Oversee receipt of quarterly statements from managers and reconciliation to internal records.
- Oversee entire capital call and distribution process and working schedules and notices prepared by TPAs.
- Oversee and track deliverables from managers and follow up on outstanding items
- Ensure all documents are loaded to SharePoint timely
- Record journal entries in eFront and Investran
- Oversee and re-calculate fund performance metrics such as IRRs and Investment Multiples at both fund and asset level.
- Produce investor reporting package such as investment manager's report, portfolio details report and various ad-hoc reporting.
- Assist in various ad-hoc projects to improve fund oversight models, processes, and controls.
The Fund Accountant may also be required to assist with other projects as required by Barings from time to time.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required
- Prior experience in private equity fund accounting/administration/audit and ideally experience was gained in fund management, fund accounting, fund administration or fund audit.
- Strong teamwork ethic whilst also having the ability to function with some direction from your team leader, challenge yourself to learn new things and continually improve.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, with Investran and eFront experience a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
Education and experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent (CPA designation preferred).
- 8+ years' experience in financial services / Big 4
- Recent and relevant experience in Fund Accounting

- Investran and eFront is preferred, not essential.
