As a Principal Virtual Server Administrator, you'll proactively manage and monitor virtual servers to ensure seamless operation, applying patches and updates to maintain security and performance. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing virtual server operations, recommending and deploying patches and updates, and conducting routine maintenance and performance tuning.

The successful candidate must be located within 50 miles of Vicksburg, MS.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years of experience in virtual server administration, with hands-on expertise in proactive monitoring, patching, and optimization in government or large enterprise environments
  • Proven track record managing VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent virtualization platforms for high-stakes operations
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
  • Strong knowledge of federal IT standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA) and ITIL practices for service operations
  • Proficiency in virtualization tools (e.g., vSphere, Hyper-V Manager) and monitoring solutions (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex virtual environments under pressure
  • Applies extensive expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines, with the ability to exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification
  • Experience supporting DoD or large federal virtualized infrastructures, including hybrid cloud integrations (e.g., Azure Stack HCI)
  • ITIL 4 Foundation or higher certification, with focus on infrastructure management
  • Background in automation scripting (e.g., PowerCLI, PowerShell) for patch deployment and monitoring
  • Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+)

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $63662 - $108225
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
