The Mission

We are seeking a Principal Transformation Architect to join our Named Customer Portfolio. This role embeds you directly with our most important enterprise and strategic customers —working side-by-side with their executives, architects, and operators to deliver tangible business outcomes powered by AWS.

This is not a traditional consultant role. As a Principal Transformation Architect, you’ll bridge sales and delivery, acting as a trusted strategic advisor and owning the technical strategy for your aligned customers. You’ll have a direct line of sight to the customer’s biggest business challenges and will lead the design and delivery of cloud-native solutions that create measurable impacts.

As a Principal Transformation Architect, you’ll be at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and execution, helping our customers unlock the full value of AWS. You’ll have the autonomy to own big problems end-to-end, the backing of a leading AWS Premier Partner, and the opportunity to shape how cloud transformation is delivered at scale.

Your Assignment
  • Serve as a Trusted Advisor: Partner with C-suite and senior technical stakeholders to align AWS-based solutions to their business goals and transformation initiatives.
  • Own the Technical Strategy: Lead discovery, architecture, and design sessions to propose well-architected, cloud-native solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Bridge Sales & Delivery: Drive technical solutioning through proposal and SOW development, ensuring clarity of requirements and constraints for successful execution.
  • Win Complex Pursuits: Partner with sales leadership to win high-stakes, multi-phase projects - owning the technical narrative for executive decision-makers.
  • Drive Program Success: Ensure delivery alignment for strategic accounts - balancing cost, schedule, and requirements tradeoffs among all stakeholders for ongoing scope discussions
  • Develop Strong Relationships: Build and nurture relationships as the owner of technical stakeholders on aligned accounts
  • Advance Account Growth: Work closely with CTOs, delivery teams, and AWS field partners to identify future-phase opportunities and expand account value.
  • Collaborate with AWS: Serve as a key partner to AWS field teams in accelerating customer success.
Your Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of architecting, building, and operating solutions on AWS.
    • 10+ years in infrastructure, applications, databases, and/or networking architecture.
    • 10+ years in consulting or equivalent roles driving complex technical solutions for enterprise customers.
  • Skills & Capabilities:
    • Proven ability to align technical solutions with business strategy and communicate the “why” as clearly as the “how.”
    • Quick learner who can rapidly understand a client’s domain, workflows, data, organizational dynamics, and constraints.
    • Strong consulting mindset: able to diagnose, scope, and structure solutions to ambiguous problems.
    • Exceptional communicator - able to shift seamlessly between technical deep dives with SMEs and strategic conversations with executives.
    • Expert workshop facilitator and presenter with excellent storytelling skills.
    • Deep understanding of cloud-native patterns and AWS Well-Architected Framework best practices.
    • Ability to manage time across multiple clients and priorities.
  • Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect – Professional (required), AWS DevOps Professional and one or more AWS Specialty certifications (preferred).
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 25%; utilization target of 25–50%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep domain expertise in Application Development, Data, AI, and/or DevOps
  • Industry vertical expertise (e.g. FinTech, HealthCare, Oil & Gas)
  • Experience designing highly-available, fault-tolerant architectures
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and requirements (e.g. SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR)

Benefits

  • 100% remote work, either from home or in a shared workspace
  • Competitive base salary plus bonus structure
  • 401k with 4% company match
  • Medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits with company paying up to 75%
  • Generous holidays and paid time off
  • State of the art laptop and tools
  • Equipment & Office Stipend
  • Individual professional development plan
  • Work with an amazing worldwide team and in an incredible corporate culture

Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is $210,000 - $255,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Compensation Components: In addition to the base salary, the compensation package may include bonuses, commissions, equity, and other incentives. The specific components will vary depending on the role and individual and/or company performance.

NOTE: We’re unable to provide visa sponsorship now or at any time in the future.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
