Job DescriptionPosition: Principal Software Engineer

The product this design effort is required for is network infrastructure equipment for a major Telco provider. It involves the
use of the latest L2 switching technology and newer generation Freescale based processors.
This is a software design/development position. It involves 3 key areas; Board diagnostics, platform or board support
package, and drivers. The OS environment is VX works V6.4 and V6.9.
Diagnostics will be used for verifying board design throughout DVT, detect board failures during normal operation where
possible, and use in the manufacturing environment to assist in full validating board functionality before shipping.
Platform support will require implementing Uboot and provide code to work with and assist the hardware developer in
bringing up and validating board operation; Memories, switch devices, I/O's, processors, etc.
Driver design will involve understanding basics of the key silicon subsystems and writing appropriate drivers based on
board requirements or utilizing silicon vendors provided SDK's.
Qualifications - External
Must have minimum of 10 years experience in one or more of the 3 key areas described above and involve experience
in the following. Experience with VXWorks minimum v6.4 , V6.9 preferred. Coding experience with C, C++, and/
or various scripting programs such as Perl or Python. It is also preferred that experience is relative to high end
network equipment used in Telco and MSO high availability systems.
