Job Duties and Responsibilities
Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.
We are seeking an RF Simulations Expert with a strong background in Radio Access Networks (RAN) and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) to support the design, modeling, and optimization of next-generation wireless communication systems.
The ideal candidate will develop and perform RF simulations for integrated terrestrial and satellite networks, ensuring optimal connectivity, spectral efficiency, and system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop RF simulation models for RAN and NTN using tools like MATLAB, STK, HFSS, and CST; perform link budget and interference analysis.
  • Simulate RF propagation, Doppler effects, antenna patterns, and channel modeling for terrestrial and satellite environments.
  • Evaluate air interface performance, beamforming, and waveform design for integrated RAN-NTN systems.
  • Optimize handovers, mobility, and spectrum sharing while addressing latency, delay, and sync challenges in hybrid deployments.
  • Support 5G/6G NTN evolution in line with 3GPP Release 17+ and regulatory requirements; explore AI/ML for RF optimization.
  • Collaborate across teams and deliver technical reports, white papers, and presentations on findings and design recommendations.

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field with 10+ years in RF simulation and system modeling.
  • Deep understanding of RF propagation, antenna design, and wireless communication principles for RAN and NTN networks.
  • Proficient in simulation tools like MATLAB, STK, HFSS, CST, and experienced with link budget and performance analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of 3GPP RAN/NTN standards, including beamforming, waveform design, and adaptive modulation.
  • Hands-on experience with LEO/MEO/GEO satellites, HAPS, and hybrid terrestrial-satellite architectures.
  • Skilled in Python, C++, or MATLAB scripting with strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication abilities.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with developing AI/ML applications to improve RAN performance
  • Knowledge of SDR-based implementations, phased array antenna systems, and spectrum management
  • Understanding of 5G O-RAN and NTN integration strategies
  • Hands-on experience in RAN optimization, interference mitigation, and network planning
