About the Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Projects Leader and Director of Operations to oversee all stages of MEMS and microsystem platforms development. The successful candidate will coordinate PhD students, postdocs, and researchers across multiple projects to ensure resources are used efficiently and project goals are met. In this role, you will interface with program managers to provide updates on project progress and ensure that deliverables are generated in a timely fashion. Additionally, you will oversee and direct the dissemination of project results through journal and conference articles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in micro-sensing technologies and a proven track record of leading successful research projects. You should have excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team of researchers towards common goals. The ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is also essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading research projects is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with cleanroom and microfabrication is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.
  • Preferred experience in piezoelectric materials characterization and design.
  • Proficiency in FE software (COMSOL) and programming languages (MATLAB, Python, etc.) is highly desirable
