Description

Our Mission:
We believe that the future of building operations will be defined by automation and intelligent technology that empowers both property staff and tenants.

ButterflyMX is on a mission to be the category-leading technology platform, delivering a unified system that transforms how buildings operate and how people experience them.

We’re building the invisible infrastructure powering delightful experiences across the entire building ecosystem—a system that lets the right people in, keeps the wrong people out, proactively anticipates needs, and improves productivity throughout the building.

Our Culture & Values:
Fantastic people are our greatest asset and the foundation of our success. As a distributed team with a primarily remote workforce, we’re seeking smart, passionate, collaborative, and grounded individuals to help us grow. What unites us is a strong commitment to excellence and innovation, guided by our core values: we delight our customers, take ownership, foster a collaborative community, speak up, think big and act with focus, and approach challenges with tenacity.

We’re looking for an exceptional Product Manager to join our growing team and drive our new product offerings. Are you ready to help shape the next phase of growth for ButterflyMX?

If you’re naturally curious, a data geek, a builder at heart, a problem solver, and someone who gets energy from identifying how we can make our customers' lives better, then this could be the role for you.

Responsibilities:

As a Principal Product Manager at ButterflyMX, you will:

  • Lead a cross functional team in exploring offerings in adjacent categories, with the ultimate goal of finding product market fit as evidenced by contracted ARR and product adoption.
  • Develop KPIs and metrics to measure success of the offerings
  • Drive continuous iteration in a co-creation environment with customers
  • Wear both hats of delivery and discovery; continuously evaluating customer needs, the competitive landscape, and industry trends to identify top opportunities while working with engineering on bringing new products to market.

You are:

  • AI-first. You instinctively consider AI capabilities first when solving product challenges.
  • Insatiably curious, a critical thinker, and have an ownership mindset.
  • Experienced in 0->1 product development where a mature, industry leading product is already in the market, and you’ve been in product management for at least 8+ years.
  • An effective communicator, able to engage with a wide range of roles, including customers, engineers, executives, and everyone in between.
  • Experienced in 3rd party integrations as well as thinking end-to-end on product delivery, inclusive of GTM motions and partnerships.
  • An analytical and critical thinker, leveraging data for decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Passionate for understanding customers' needs and developing solutions to address that need with a creative and solution-oriented approach.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, delivering projects and leading cross functional teams with executional excellence.
  • Someone who thrives in high-pressure environments, maintaining focus and meeting deadlines.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive Medical (ButterflyMX covers 90% of the cost), Dental, and Vision plans (ButterflyMX covers 100% of the cost) starting day 1
  • 401(k) plan with a match
  • 13 paid holidays, 25 PTO days
  • Paid Family Leave
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Quarterly self-care stipends
  • Access to optional benefits including pre-tax flexible healthcare spending accounts (FSA and HSA), Dependent Care FSA, and Commuter Benefits, as well as optional Supplemental Life, AD&D, Hospital Indemnity, Disability, Legal, Accident, Critical Illness, Pet, and Personal Liability Insurance
  • And more!

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
