Principal Platform Software Engineer

Position Overview

Autodesk AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) is looking for a Principal Platform Software Engineer who's ready to help us improve our customer experience by building functional systems that bring our business to new heights. 

Our group handles building a modern cloud deployment platform on top of AWS, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD. We strive to build systems that enable our users to quickly deploy reliable applications to production. You will help build our evolving cloud deployment platform. 

Responsibilities

• Identify Problems in the Platform and Design + Implement Solutions

• Collaborate cross-functionally with application developers, project managers, and other infrastructure engineers to achieve elegant solutions

• Code, test, debug and document new and existing functional components to ensure that software meets business, quality and operational needs

• Lead projects involving multiple engineers

Minimum Qualifications

• Track Record of Ownership of Complex Systems

• Deep experience modern cloud deployment technology ArgoCD, Kubernetes, (Istio a big plus)

• Backend Application development experience (Java/Python/Go etc) with an emphasis on API development

• Kubernetes Operator development Experience a big plus

• Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems

• Experience leading and mentoring other engineers on the team
