About the Team

Platform Engineering is a family of teams focused on creating and supporting the tools used by all Application and Service Developers at Stitch Fix. We focus on creating low friction tools and practices to maximize developer happiness. We believe happy developers write better code. We practice modern platform practices like Infrastructure-as-Code, Immutable Infrastructure, use of Containers, and leverage AWS as well as many other Cloud SaaS offerings.

About the Role

As a Principal Engineer on the Dev Platform team, you will be building and improving Stitch Fix's cloud native infrastructure. You'll develop tools and automation that enable internal product developers to deploy and debug apps and microservices easily and efficiently. You'll work closely with a distributed team of engineers to design innovative solutions that streamline our operations and help our broader engineering group scale effectively.

  • Have 8+ years of software development and infrastructure experience with significant contributions
  • Have a track record of influencing technical direction across teams and driving alignment on long-term platform strategy
  • Enjoy navigating complex, ambiguous problems and bringing clarity to technical decision-making
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to adoption, with a focus on creating durable, scalable systems
  • Act as a mentor and thought partner to other senior engineers, helping elevate technical standards across the org
  • Have experience with AWS or other cloud based providers
  • Have experience with orchestration systems, CI/CD, and production observability
  • Are able to identify scalability bottlenecks and implement solutions
  • Have developer empathy and want to improve developers' lives
  • Have natural curiosity and a tendency to get excited to dig in and understand how things work
  • Are detail-oriented, curious, and passionate about building infrastructure people love to use

Compensation and Benefits
This role will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and equity. The salary for US-based employees hired into this role will be aligned with the range below, which includes our three geographic areas. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, location, and performance.This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance. In addition, the position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and other benefits. Applicants should apply via our internal or external careers site.

Salary Range
$157,800$232,000 USD
