Principal Mechanical Engineer (Robotics / Automated Machinery)

Job Description

We are looking for our next Principal Mechanical Engineer as we accelerate our growth journey.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Responsible for the technical leadership of major robotics and automation development projects.  

  • Will be responsible for applications engineering, development of new products/extensions and sustaining engineering on robots used for material handling in semiconductor and adjacent industries. 

  • Candidate will have technical expertise in electro-mechanical precision machine design with embedded software and controls.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • BSME (MSME preferred) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in robotics or automated machine design including the integration of electronics, firmware and motion control. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management and leadership experience. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in engineering fundamentals.

  • Experience completing static, dynamic, vibration, structural and thermal analysis. 

  • Expert with bearing / motion component selection and design.

  • Expertise in selecting motors, sensors and other electrical components used in robotics and automated machinery.

  • Experience with DFx, including reliability and cost.

  • Experience selecting and working with key suppliers and outsource partners.

  • Experience developing new products from concept through production using a stage gate development process.

  • Experience successfully leading multi-disciplinary teams to accomplish aggressive goals.

  • Experience with Solid Modeling, Finite Element Analysis and MS Project.

  • Experience with ProE, Ansys, Agile and Oracle preferred.

  • Experience specifying SW and Controls requirements preferred.

  • Experience in semiconductor capital equipment or adjacent markets is preferred.
