The Marketing Science team at Snap helps advertisers get the highest possible ROI from Snap’s ads platform by using advanced measurement and analytics. We equip our Sales teams with what they need to be quantitatively driven, act as consultative partners to advertisers through training, tooling, and measurement best practices, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Strategy, and Sales to ensure Snap’s ad products are effective, efficient, and customer‑centric.

We’re looking for a Principal Marketing Scientist to join Snap inc.!

What You’ll Do

  • Set and influence the measurement strategy for Snap’s third-party (3P) ecosystem, aligning solutions with business priorities, industry standards, and evolving advertiser needs

  • Build measurement fluency across Marketing Science, Sales, Product, Product Marketing, Partnerships, and other cross-functional teams; influence roadmap priorities and adoption without direct authority

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior executives at measurement partners and agencies, strengthening Snap’s reputation across Brand, Web, App, Attribution, Incrementality, and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) solutions

  • Drive external thought leadership through white papers, conference presentations, industry committees, and narratives on measurement, ads efficacy, and Snap-specific analytics

  • Lead meta-analyses, performance benchmarking, and playbook development to scale learnings and performance proof points across markets, verticals, and advertisers

  • Establish operational excellence for third-party measurement, including solution evaluation, adoption, tracking, and governance

  • Contribute to quarterly partner business reviews, highlighting trends, progress against goals, and opportunities for innovation in measurement and analytics.

  • Use data and partner insights to identify innovation opportunities, make go/no-go recommendations, and guide strategic measurement decisions

  • Utilize AI tools to more efficiently develop scalable data solutions, while maintaining rigorous standards for accuracy and statistical integrity

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Deep expertise in digital advertising measurement, including Brand, Direct Response (DR), Web, App, Attribution, Incrementality, and MMM

  • Strong cross-functional and partner leadership skills, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders, external partners, and roadmaps without direct control

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, dashboarding, AI, and data visualization tools, with the ability to oversee technical work and contribute hands-on when needed

  • Strong knowledge of applied statistics, causal inference, time-series modeling, data mining, and measurement methodologies

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex analytical and measurement concepts for executive audiences.

  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on problem solving across enablement, budgeting, partner management, measurement strategy, and individual-contributor initiatives

  • Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of data-driven decision-making, insights generation, and industry best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field or equivalent years of practical work experience

  • 10+ years of post-Bachelor’s advanced analytics and measurement experience; or Master’s degree in a quantitative or business field + 9 years of post-graduate advanced analytics and measurement experience; or PhD in a relevant field + 6 year of post-graduate advanced analytics and measurement experience

  • Experience in marketing science, product strategy, ads measurement or a related field within a technology, media agency, consulting firm, advertiser, or research company

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in business, mathematics, economics, engineering, or a related field

  • Extensive experience working with advertisers of varied sizes and verticals across both Brand and DR measurement

  • Direct experience at an advertising measurement company or within a related measurement-focused function

  • Demonstrated success building relationships with clients, agencies, measurement partners, and C-level stakeholders

  • Experience developing teams or leading peers through coaching, influence, and capability building

  • Expertise in partner ecosystem methodology and research, including evaluating solutions, making investment or go/no-go decisions, and using data to shape measurement strategy

  • Experience in analytics or measurement leadership roles

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $209,000-$313,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $199,000-$297,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $178,000-$266,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
