Where we Work

Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

As a Principal Integration Engineer at Udemy, you will be the technical bridge connecting diverse systems, platforms, and data sources to create seamless, unified solutions that power our learning ecosystem. You'll work at the intersection of technology and business needs, ensuring that our various systems communicate effectively to deliver exceptional experiences for our millions of learners and instructors worldwide.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and implement integration solutions that connect internal systems, third-party applications, and external APIs to create seamless data flows and functionality
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to analyze integration requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Develop and maintain data integration pipelines that ensure accurate, timely, and secure data movement across multiple platforms and databases
  • Lead integration projects from conception to deployment, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful delivery
  • Monitor system performance and proactively troubleshoot integration issues, implementing solutions that minimize downtime and optimize system reliability
  • Create comprehensive documentation for integration processes, data mappings, and system workflows to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing
  • Participate in system architecture discussions and provide technical expertise on integration best practices and emerging technologies
  • Support testing and validation of integration solutions to ensure data integrity and functionality meet business requirements

What You'll Have

  • 3-5 years of experience in systems integration, software development, or related technical roles with demonstrated success in connecting disparate systems
  • Strong proficiency with integration technologies such as REST/SOAP APIs, ETL tools, middleware platforms, and data transformation processes
  • Experience with database management systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data warehousing concepts, with ability to design efficient data models and queries
  • Proven track record in project management with experience leading technical projects, managing stakeholders, and delivering solutions on time and within scope
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting complex technical issues
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and modern integration patterns such as microservices and event-driven architectures
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, and version control systems like GitHub

In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for equity.
