Position:Principal Financial Reporting Specialist

Position Summary:Responsible for internal reporting to upper management and external reporting to investors, as well as revenue recognition under ASC 606, and assistance with technical accounting research. Facilitates cross-functional communication by teaming with other departments when tasks need to be handled. This position reports to the Controller.

Job Description:

Primary responsibilities:

  • Fosters accountability and collaboration to ensure team member and overall team success.
  • Works cross-functionally to review client contracts, estimate future billings, and calculate earned revenue under ASC 606.
  • Prepares Ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Prepares annual and quarterly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. 
  • Draft and maintain financial statement footnotes and disclosure checklists.
  • Provides overall financial support to keep cross-functional teams mutually informed as to current and future financial and business developments.
  • Enhances and develops reporting tools.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Works with multi-discipline teams on various special projects.
  • Assist with research and conclusions on complex US GAAP topics; assist with drafting clear technical memos and positions for management and auditors.
  • Provide support in dealing with accounting for new transactions.
  • Maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Stay current on accounting/reporting standards.
  • Support external audits and coordinate with auditors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • Skilled at researching, concluding, and documenting conclusions around technical accounting issues
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office programs skills, including Excel
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Proficiency in accounting processes, procedures, and controls
  • Experience in general ledger account analysis/reconciliation
  • Ability to work with cross-functional departments to research and resolve issues
  • Strong problem-solving and researching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize a heavy workload
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate departmental and project deadlines
  • Good project management skills with the ability to indirectly guide, support, mentor, and develop junior team members

Preferred

  • Public accounting experience and CPA certification
  • SEC reporting experience

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office working conditions.

Pay Transparency:

Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay rate include your specific skills, experience, qualifications, location, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to the base salary, certain roles may qualify for a performance-based incentive and/or equity, with eligibility depending on the position. These rewards are based on a combination of company performance and individual achievements.

The hiring range for this position is:

$98,400.00-$132,225.00
