Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
Your Future Team
Our Finance Delivery Acceleration Office (DAO) sits at the heart of Atlassian's Finance Transformation team, bringing together experts in Finance, Accounting, Technology, Program/Project Management, and Portfolio Operations. As the engine for accelerating finance's project delivery, DAO leads high-impact work that makes Atlassian's finance operations more scalable, efficient, and future-ready. We drive the adoption of best-in-class PMO methodologies and delivery frameworks, partnering with global stakeholders to enable operational excellence across the Finance organization. This is a fully remote role, working primarily on a PST/CST schedule, and collaborating with teams around the world.
About the Role
Atlassian is seeking a Finance Project Manager (FP&A) with exceptional project management expertise to drive the successful execution of complex, cross-functional FP&A initiatives-most notably, partnering with Senior leadership to lead and evolve our Long Range Planning (LRP) process. In this role, you will serve as the lead project manager for LRP, orchestrating the planning, coordination, and delivery of multi-year financial planning projects that are critical to Atlassian's strategic direction.
You will play a pivotal role in building and scaling our Finance Delivery Acceleration Office (DAO), establishing industry-leading PMO methodologies, templates, and processes tailored for a high-growth SaaS environment. Your primary focus will be on project governance, stakeholder management, and the continuous improvement of project delivery frameworks within FP&A, with a special emphasis on the LRP process.
Success in this role requires a proven track record in project and program management within Finance or FP&A organizations, particularly in driving large-scale planning cycles and transformation initiatives. You will be responsible for fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups-including executive leadership-adapting project plans to evolving priorities, and bringing structure to ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. Your ability to drive cross-initiative governance, deliver measurable impact, and continuously improve the LRP process will be critical.
If you are passionate about project management excellence and eager to shape the future of FP&A and long-range planning at Atlassian, we invite you to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end project management for key FP&A initiatives, with a primary focus on the Long Range Planning (LRP) process. Support planning, execution, and continuous improvement of LRP direction with FP&A leadership, ensuring alignment with business goals and executive expectations.
  • Own the project governance and delivery framework for LRP and other FP&A programs. Develop detailed roadmaps, project plans, timelines, templates, and deliverables to establish best-in-class governance and transparency.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams-including FP&A, Accounting, Business Partners, RevOps, and other stakeholders-to achieve LRP milestones and deliver results. Facilitate collaboration and clarity across all phases of the planning cycle.
  • Drive process improvements to support teams delivering financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and provide implementation support as needed. Identify, communicate and implement enhancements to the LRP process and related FP&A activities in alignment with FP&A business team's guidance.
  • Own the project communications strategy for LRP and FP&A programs, including contributing to executive-level updates, status reporting, and ongoing governance cadences (e.g., MBRs, QBRs). Ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the planning cycle.
  • Develop meaningful executive updates in partnership with Senior Leadership around impacted metrics, project benefits, and OKRs across the FP&A project portfolio. Synthesize complex information into actionable insights for leadership.
  • Apply systems thinking to assess the interconnectedness of people, processes, and technology within FP&A, especially as it relates to LRP. Address dependencies holistically and identify themes and patterns across projects to uncover opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish structure and momentum from ambiguity, creating clarity and actionable plans for stakeholders and teams. Work closely with project sponsors, leads, cross-functional teams, and other project managers to ensure successful LRP execution.
  • Ensure consistent ongoing clarity around scope, deliverables, resources, risks, and decisions to establish operational excellence across FP&A governance activities.
  • Champion continuous improvement and project delivery excellence in all FP&A-related initiatives, with a focus on supporting and optimizing the LRP process.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7-10+ years of experience in FP&A, finance operations, project management, or other finance delivery roles.
  • Deep familiarity with FP&A process areas/operations (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial modeling) and FP&A delivery across operating model components (process, policy, data, technology, reporting, people, etc.).
  • Combination of project management and delivery experience in large-scale FP&A or Finance PMO Organization, with knowledge of detailed design, implementation, and project management methodologies, as well as change management approaches.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple moving parts of a project across resources, timelines, deliverables, and RAID tracking.
  • Consistent record of motivating and managing change while influencing across various stakeholder groups, departments, and levels.
  • Outstanding executive presence, stakeholder management and collaboration skills with the ability to drive clarity in fast-changing environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to summarize complex project updates to key themes, risks, and actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to shifting priorities, handle and prioritize competing responsibilities, and deliver incremental value.
  • Ownership mentality, excels when challenging the status quo, developing new strategic/operational direction, and is comfortable with Long Range Planning (LRP) efforts.
  • Experience working with Project and Portfolio Management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technology or Software / SaaS industry experience.
  • Experience with Atlassian suite of solutions (and developing best practices).
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional FP&A or finance programs with measurable impact.
  • Understanding of business operations, trends, and best practices, particularly within FP&A and Finance Operations.
  • Experience in communications (e.g., executive, stakeholder comms) preferred.
