IQVIA’s Global Technology and Operations (GTO) group’s responsibility is expanding. To assist throughout the M&A lifecycle, including target assessment for current technology state and differentiating components, we're seeking to add a highly skilled and experienced Principal Enterprise Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture team within the Architecture and Standards Group (A&S) of our Global Technology & Operations organization.

Job Overview:

  • Assist throughout the M&A lifecycle, including target assessment for current technology state and differentiating components.
  • Provide thought leadership on technology evaluation.
  • Lead the current state assessment and documentation of the technology landscape during the due diligence phase.
  • Make opinionated recommendations on technology rationalization, including a roadmap to integrate systems.
  • Plan to address technical debt and provide strategic leadership on the target state technology ecosystem architecture.
  • Conceptualize and design high-level system architectures that support IQVIA's current and future systems, products, and platforms, aligning with business OKRs.
  • Collaborate with BU product/system architects to co-design architectures that deliver business use cases.
  • Guide business leaders and their teams through the technology, business, and operational implications of their technology investment decisions.
  • Partner with IQVIA Business Unit stakeholders and work closely with engineering and product teams to promote event-based and/or microservices-based architecture patterns leveraging domain-driven design.
  • Present architectural options to stakeholders, demonstrating how they meet their needs.
  • Act as the architecture thought leader and a trusted partner for Product and Engineering Leadership across the organization, recommending innovative solutions to improve live and new system architectures.
  • Promote IQVIA's API-first development strategy.
  • Provide insights into inter-related business and technical capabilities by identifying patterns of similar use cases.
  • Develop business cases to analyze, plan, and prioritize investments in business capabilities, mapping them to underlying processes, systems, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with business line managers to align IT strategic direction and architecture concepts.
  • Work with architect and engineering community of practitioners across IQVIA to drive adoption of recommended M&A integration target state.
  • Maintain the EA application portfolio for IQVIA, promoting adoption and obtaining alignment among stakeholders.
  • Present complex business cases and program release plans to senior management with priority recommendations for IQVIA's architecture roadmap evolution.
  • Share insights, recommendations, and learnings cross-functionally, acting as a consultant for system and technical advice.
  • Stay updated on new trends and technology changes, identifying opportunities for future implementation.
  • Mentor and coach peer architects across the organization.
  • Demonstrate hands-on experience with API-first design concepts and implementation ideas, solving problems within system context with an eye for scaling and reuse in the enterprise context.
  • Identify competitors, industry leaders, and peers to evaluate their technology use and make practical recommendations for continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software development and enterprise architecture and at least 7 - 10 years experience within enterprise architecture
  • Extensive experience with M&As - pre and post deal, due diligence interviews to create an application portfolio and business capability model which enabled IT and business units to optimize technology alignment, minimize risk, and enhance user experience.
  • Developing strategic technology plans and roadmaps, including business architecture, value streams, capability maps & customer journeys
  • Experience designing, integrating and managing complex infrastructure solutions
  • Ability to present and communicate business and technical concepts
  • Experience leading efforts to create technological solutions and architectures impacting critical areas of the business
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems
  • Demonstrated technology skills across multiple IT domains (e.g., application, security, infrastructure)
  • Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level
  • Experience in enterprise architecture or application architecture, application development and/or systems management
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience of event-driven architectures, microservices-based, RESTful and alternative styles and other modern architecture design techniques and best practices
  • Deep knowledge of API-first design patterns
  • Experience with on-premise solutions and cloud platforms and architectures on Azure, AWS
  • Experience in Healthcare/Life Sciences preferred

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $118,100.00 - $328,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
