Principal Engineer, Segment Marketing – Power Solutions

The Power Solutions group helps ADI win system level power opportunities across Healthcare, Instrumentation, Communications, Aerospace, and Defence by combining portfolio breadth, system expertise, applications insight, and market knowledge.

We are seeking a Principal Engineer, Segment Marketing – Power Solutions to define strategy for Healthcare and/or Instrumentation, shape roadmap priorities, and convert customer needs into qualified opportunities. This P5 individual contributor role requires technical credibility, commercial judgement, independent execution, and senior cross-functional influence.

Key Responsibilities

Market and Solution Strategy

  • Build deep expertise in Healthcare and/or Instrumentation markets, customer pain points, architectures, competition, and technology trends.

  • Translate market insight into segment strategies, investment recommendations, roadmaps, platform concepts, and differentiated value propositions.

  • Define system-level power architectures that connect customer needs to ADI products, reference designs, software, and support models.

Business and Customer Execution

  • Own business cases for solution initiatives, including revenue potential, strategic fit, customer validation, differentiation, and execution requirements.

  • Engage strategic customers, OEMs, partners, and field teams to validate needs, influence architectures, and turn opportunities into design wins.

  • Develop lighthouse customers and repeatable use cases that demonstrate value and support scalable revenue growth.

Positioning and Field Enablement

  • Create clear positioning and sales narratives that translate technical capability into customer and business value.

  • Develop launch plans, competitive plays, customer content, proof points, and field enablement with marketing, product, and sales teams.

  • Position ADI as a power system architecture partner, not only a component supplier.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead through influence across product lines, applications, systems engineering, sales, business development, operations, and executive stakeholders.

  • Use market, customer, and competitive evidence to drive alignment, prioritisation, and execution.

  • Operate independently with Principal-level judgement, communication, and organisational influence.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Typically 8+ years in segment or product marketing, product management, applications, systems engineering, business development, or a related technical-commercial role in semiconductors, power electronics, or industrial systems.

  • Strong knowledge of power management, conversion, system architectures, mixed-signal systems, or industrial electronics.

  • Proven ability to convert market and customer insight into strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and go-to-market execution.

  • Strong customer communication, positioning, and cross-functional influencing skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in Healthcare or Instrumentation.

  • Master’s degree, PhD, or MBA.

Other Requirements

  • International travel may be required, typically 10–15%.
