ENTRUST is seeking a talented and driven Principal Turbine Control Systems Engineer to join our growing team of experts in the electric power generation sector. In this senior-level role, you will bring your engineering expertise to the forefront, leading the execution of complex projects that power communities and industries. Specifically, this role will focus on turbine control systems and supporting other team members with other power generation related projects (i.e. balance of plant, etc.).  This position offers a flexible work environment tailored to your lifestyle, with remote, hybrid, and in-office options available depending on your location. Some travel (15–30%) is required to support project needs and client engagement.

As a Principal Turbine Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, scheduling, and coordinating the technical aspects of engineering projects. You will be responsible for designing and programming both hardware and software systems, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions for power plants. Your work will center on instrumentation, control, and electrical systems, ensuring high performance and reliability. You will also contribute to the development of engineering proposals, including defining technical scopes, estimating schedules, and planning resources. Collaboration is at the heart of this role—you’ll work closely with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure project success through structured processes such as Design Reviews, Program Reviews, and Project Closeout Meetings. Your ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues in real time will be essential to delivering exceptional results.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10-20+ years of experience in turbine controls, electrical, instrumentation, and power plant controls.
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Steam Turbine Controls
    • Gas Turbine Controls
    • Burner Management Systems (BMS)
    • Combustion Controls
    • Balance of Plant
  • Process expert in combustion and/or steam turbines.
  • Knowledge of DCS/PLC Systems and programming of DCS/PLC systems
  • Promotes teamwork by demonstrating effective communication skills and collaboration with peers, management, and the client
  • Ability and willingness to travel 15-30% locally and domestically.
  • Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated to achieve in budget and on time project success/completion.

Preferred: 

  • Engineering Degree or related field

  • This position pays between $120,000 and $145,000 annually (or hourly) and is an exempt (or non-exempt) position. Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
