Principal Associate, Supplier Management
As a Principal, Supplier Management/Purchasing Operations you will be responsible for the holistic relationship between Capital One and key third parties, enabling a well-managed and adaptable supply chain. You will work closely with international team members to establish and maintain relationships with internal business customers, account teams and assigned suppliers. Day to day accountabilities will often include problem solving, applying sound judgment, and acting as a liaison between suppliers and experts/support teams within Capital One seeking to support your efforts in obtaining goods and services necessary for the Mexico operation. This role is essential in the delivery of key cost, risk, and performance management-related efforts for third-party relationships, in addition to identifying strategic opportunities for growth and/or greater return on investment.

Key responsibilities of the Supplier and Purchasing, Principal role include:
  • Problem Solving and Strategy Advice: Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify value-generating opportunities (e.g. savings, efficiencies, or revenue growth).
  • Negotiation: Partner to negotiate contracts for a broad range of services for Capital One
  • Relationship Management: Serve as primary point of contact for local third parties and manage an effective governance between Capital One and assigned third parties
  • Collaboration: Partner with Enterprise Supplier Management, Purchasing Operations and other internal risk groups to ensure third parties are properly engaged and compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Risk Management: monitor and ensure successful delivery against third party contractual obligations.
  • Process Management: accountable for policy requirements for all managed third-party relationships. Plan and lead periodic reviews and assessments of supplier relationships.
  • Supplier Sourcing: maintain awareness of external marketplace as it relates to services needed to meet the Mexico organization needs

Note: Limited travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in Supplier Management, Relationship Management or Procurement.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Risk Management
  • Intermediate-Advanced English fluency.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in Supplier Management, Relationship Management, Procurement
  • 4+ years of experience in Process Management, Project Management
  • 3+ years of experience in Risk Management.
  • 2+ years of experience in Process Management or Project Management
