Summary:

The Principal and Senior Vice President, Financial Services oversees all aspects of the Wealth Management and Retirement Plan business for a specific branch office, driving strategic growth and cultivating a high-performing, multi-disciplinary advisory team. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive business plan, managing a significant budget and P&L, ensuring exceptional client service delivery, and driving new business across both individual wealth management and employer-sponsored retirement plans. This role focuses on collaborating with and providing leadership to internal teams to secure client meetings and showcase OneDigital’s integrated financial services platform, including wealth management, retirement plan consulting, and workplace-to-wealth solutions. The role operates in a player–coach capacity, contributing directly to client, practice, or operational outcomes while maintaining accountability for overall office performance, culture, and financial results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to):

Practice Execution Responsibilities

  • Execute at a high level within their primary professional discipline (wealth advisory/retirement consulting/client service/operations), maintaining credibility and performance standards while balancing branch leadership responsibilities.
  • Identify and pursue new client opportunities consistent with their professional scope and expertise.
  •  Maintain and deepen client relationships, serving as a strategic advisor and escalation point when appropriate.
  • Deliver compelling client-facing presentations and solutions within their discipline, including financial planning, investment management, retirement plan consulting, fiduciary guidance, and integrated workplace-to-wealth strategies as applicable.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs), referral partners, and strategic partners within the local market.
  • Represent OneDigital in the local market and at industry or community events when appropriate to their role and expertise.
  • Contribute to acquisition efforts within the branch’s geography by participating in early-stage discussions with prospective firms and serving as a local leadership resource during onboarding and integration of newly acquired teams.

Strategic Leadership

  • Accountable for accelerating organic net revenue growth across the branch by defining and executing a clear growth strategy, reinforcing disciplined sales behaviors, leveraging the full advisor and service team, and translating growth data and dashboards into focused execution priorities.
  • Establish and lead a durable sales culture across both wealth and retirement lines of business by normalizing growth-focused conversations, enforcing disciplined pipeline management and pricing standards, and holding the team accountable to consistent sales execution and client expansion outcomes.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities with individual clients, business owners, and plan sponsors.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example, setting expectations for collaboration, results orientation, and client-centric service.
  • Ensure disciplined adoption of OneDigital platforms, workflows, pricing standards, compliance requirements, and service models.

Team Management and Development

  • Lead a high-performing team of Retirement Plan and Wealth Management professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and professional development. Equip them with the tools and strategies to become trusted advisors, exceeding client expectations and driving revenue growth.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard top advisory, service, and operational talent.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship focused on advisory excellence, sales effectiveness, fiduciary responsibility, and client outcomes.
  • Leverage national, regional, and market-defined performance frameworks and enablement materials to establish clear performance expectations, metrics, and accountability standards within the branch.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and development planning.
  • Ensure strong onboarding, role clarity, and career development by using established national frameworks, tools, and defined career pathways.

Financial Management and Oversight

  • Own and manage a significant office-level budget and P&L, including revenue growth, expense management, pricing discipline, and staffing decisions.
  • Monitor financial performance, growth dashboards, pipeline activity, and client retention metrics, translating performance data into actionable plans that accelerate revenue growth and proactively address risks or execution gaps.
  • Partner with Market and Regional leadership on forecasting, growth planning, and operational improvements.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • Proven track record leading and growing advisory teams within wealth management and retirement plan consulting.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing business strategies in a financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Financial planning and investment management
    • ERISA regulations and fiduciary best practices
    • Regulatory and compliance frameworks applicable to advisory and retirement plan services
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen with a focus on growth, profitability, and operational discipline.
  • Proven ability to exceed sales and growth objectives.
  • Demonstrated discipline in sales pipeline management and CRM usage (Salesforce preferred).
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to change.
  • Continual learner mindset with the ability to interpret regulatory and market changes for clients.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and financial information.
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
  • Business travel up to 25%.
  • Must be licensed to allow registration as an IAR of OneDigital Investment Advisors.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Masters preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in financial advisory services and/or retirement plan consulting.
  • Minimum of 7+ years in a leadership role.

Job Description Customization

  • Hiring managers may customize this job description based on their specific needs. HR/Talent Management should provide oversight to ensure additional duties still reflect the primary intent of the role and reach out to Business Line leadership when questions arise.

The national compensation range for this role is $300,000–$400,000 annually. Total compensation is anticipated to fall within this range and may vary based on experience, qualifications, and the structure of the candidate’s compensation package.

This role may also be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and additional benefits. Final compensation details—including base salary and any variable components—will be confirmed during the offer process and are subject to change.

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance. We also offer eligible employees health, wellbeing, retirement, and other financial benefits, paid time off, overtime pay for non-exempt employees, and robust learning and development programs.
