With a strong focus on automation, mobile technology, and intelligent data, they help contractors deliver better service outcomes while growing their business.
Reporting to the CTO, we are seeking an AI Strategist to help shape the future of software development. As a Principal AI Engineer, you’ll work closely with internal engineering, data, QA, and product teams to drive adoption of AI tools that fundamentally change how we build software and create value for their customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as subject matter expert, thought leader, and evangelist for AI innovations in our software development workflows
- Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape, particularly tools and practices that impact engineering productivity
- Identify and prioritize AI use cases that benefit the Engineering team and company
- Develop, maintain, and support our internal AI tools, including Onyx, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Devin, and plugins to Zendesk, Jira, and other platforms
- Collaborate with engineering managers to understand requirements, design pilot programs, and execute rollouts of AI tools Collaborate with QA teams to leverage AI for developing, maintaining, and executing automated test suites
- Collaborate with our customer data platform and internal data teams to apply AI/ML techniques
- Coach and mentor engineers on AI tool adoption and best practices
- Define metrics to measure success and adoption of AI tools and workflows
- Review and assess AI initiative outcomes, adjusting strategies to meet department and company goals based on team feedback and performance data
- Provide guidance for company AI compliance and ethics policies
Indicators of Success:
- Measurable improvements in team throughput, code quality, and developer satisfaction through AI tool adoption
- Internal teams are empowered to operate more efficiently and with greater ease by leveraging AI-driven tools capable of understanding and processing company data
- Insights into our customers’ data are unlocked by AI/ML investigations
Experience and Knowledge:
- BS in computer science or related technical degree strongly preferred
- 5+ years of software development experience, preferably with JavaScript and/or Python - 2+ years of AI/ML experience
- Practical experience delivering code into production with AI-augmented coding tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor
- Experience with autonomous coding agents such as Devin, and an informed opinion on the role of autonomous agents in the software development lifecycle
- Experience with Linux, Docker, command line tools, Git, and shell scripting
- Strong knowledge of SaaS architectures, APIs, and microservices
- Experience with cloud ML tools, preferably AWS services like Bedrock and SageMaker, is a plus
