The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Strategic Presales Enterprise Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in our presales organization. This position blends the strategic thinking of an Enterprise Architect with the technical expertise of a Presales Solution Architect. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, designing comprehensive cloud solutions that leverage multiple service lines across different cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), while evaluating various offerings to address diverse client needs.

Client-Centric Solution Design
- Serve as the CxO facing lead technical architect in strategic sales engagements with key prospects and existing customers
- Develop a deep understanding of clients' business goals, industry landscape, challenges, and long-term strategic objectives
- Design and articulate compelling, innovative solutions that address customer needs and demonstrate significant business value
- Architect customized solutions by selecting the optimal mix of services, considering factors like cost, performance, and security
- Lead technical workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) to showcase capabilities and build client confidence with participation
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and facilitate group white-boarding sessions to articulate solutions and services methodology
- Coordinate with service delivery to structure realistic, innovative, and cost-effective solutions
- Communicate with project managers, extended teams and partners during presales and project delivery
- Call on domain-specific SMEs when needed and integrate their contributions into comprehensive solutions
- Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with proposed solutions
Key Expertise Required
- Broad technical knowledge across multiple service lines including Professional Services and Managed Services (Apps, Infrastructure, Data, AI/ML, Security)
- Deep expertise in at least one hyperscaler cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) with strong familiarity of the others
- Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
- Strong communication skills for translating business needs into technical requirements
- Ability to present complex solutions to both technical and executive audiences
- Experience in migration, transformation, infrastructure consolidation, automation, and optimization projects
Thought Leadership and Evangelism
- Act as a trusted advisor to both internal teams and external customers on technology strategy, innovation and change
- Contribute to thought leadership content, such as white papers, presentations, and blog posts
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences
- This position will focus primarily on large enterprise clients undergoing migration (transition), transformation and infrastructure consolidation, leveraging our full suite of professional and managed services to design holistic solutions that address their specific business challenges.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of combined technical support experience and pre-sales technical support experience.
- Expert level knowledge of AWS or Azure
- Experience working in a project environment, in a supplier, vendor or consultant capacity.
- Ability to communicate technical info and ideas so others will understand.
- Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
- Ability to provide FANATICAL support by driving the value of Rackspace to both potential and existing Rackspace customers and internal sales teams alike.
- Being familiar with Professional Services delivery frameworks and methodologies (e.g. Agile and Waterfall) with experience writing professional services statements of work.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Additional experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a rate of 3 years of experience for 1 year of education.
- AWS, Azure, or GCP certification is preferred.

•The anticipated starting pay range for the states of Hawaii and New York (not including NYC) is: $ 186,900 - $ 299,100
•The anticipated starting pay range for California, New York City and Washington is: $ 205,300 - $ 328,400
