This is a remote position.

A book publicist develops and executes PR/media campaigns for publishing houses, traditionally and self-published authors. Key book genres represented include:  fiction, children’s, health/wellness, memoir, lifestyle, self-help, and business. Position includes writing press materials, executing and overseeing media relations campaigns (to include landing mid to top tier media exposure), strategy design, and author branding consulting.  


Responsibilities:

  • Write press packs, experts pages, sample media questions and media pitches.

  • Manage media relations campaign execution and client communication.

  • Identify opportunities for contributed articles and tip lists for clients.

  • Develop, identify and maintain relationships with the media. Pitch and secure placements in traditional and online media outlets and manage media requests for clients.

  • Attend client meetings.

  • Research media, newsworthy topics/events and angles/pitches online.

  • Work closely with chief publicity strategist to craft and execute PR campaigns.

  • Maintain communication with clients via phone, email for monthly updates and goal setting.

  • Review campaign analytics with clients.

  • Help authors create consistent branding.
