General Responsibilities
- Manage Novus business to maximize revenue and profit, short term and long term for the region. This includes owning the SG&A and overall P&L and contribution to the Specialty Business Unit.
- Oversee the sales of Poultry products, management of sales accounts, optimization and management of the customer base in region, growth of sales volume, and optimization of profit margins for the poultry business.
- Manage, coach and develop a team of Regional Sales and Technical Service Managers and participate as a leader in the NORAM Commercial team cross-species.
- Support business development by proposing new market opportunities within territory.
- Accountable for development and execution of sales plans for the region, contributes to budget and business planning processes.
- Closely coordinate with cross-functional partners in marketing, logistics, and customer service teams to support the region.
- Build customer partnerships and industry knowledge to help manage the sales territory and understand challenges and decision-making drivers and ensure alignment with business strategy
- Manage preparation of forecast sales volumes for all product/channels for assigned territory.
- Plan and implement market strategies and tactics to promote growth of product sales in assigned territory.
- Maintain compliance with SFDC guidelines for Sales Team, including, engage in monthly manager and support team reviews, maintain active and viable Opportunity Pipeline aligning with budgeted sales goals, maintaining appropriate Contacts and follow up in active Campaigns
- Provide marketing intelligence, proactively share unique selling tools and take responsibility for personal development.
- Oversee compliance and adhere to the Novus Integrity System (NIS) and all policies and procedures related to position assignment including but not limited to: Delegation of Authority, Credit Policies, Role Approval Policy, Travel and Expense Report Policy, and Sales Price Management Policy across the team. Professionally represent Novus International at all times by adhering to the highest ethical standards.
General Guidance for Key Knowledge/Skills/ Experience
- Advanced degree (MS/MBA) or bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of sales and/or marketing experience.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience over a sales team. 5+ years preferred.
- Detailed understanding of animal protein (primarily Poultry) and food industries for assigned area.
- Thorough knowledge of animal nutrition and health businesses for assigned area.
- Distinguished expertise for a geography and/or species by the industry.
- Proven ability to develop sales plans and accurate forecasts for assigned species or geography.
- Consistently brings growth and margin within Novus or comparable business environment.
- Wide range of experience in implementing effective sales plans.
- Established ability to understand and respond to competitive landscape and new market opportunities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM management tools like SalesForce,
