The Role

We are currently recruiting a Boston-based Associate for our Portfolio Operations team. We are looking for a high-powered problem solver with an ambition to become a growth-stage executive. In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with our investment team, seasoned growth-stage operators, and portfolio company executives to identify, plan, and execute value-creation initiatives. You will gain valuable experience in a variety of areas, including go-to-market, talent, M&A, and finance, which will equip you for senior leadership roles within our portfolio operations team or a portfolio company on an accelerated basis.


This role is ideal for a self-starter who has built a strong problem-solving and change-management toolkit in banking, consulting, investing, or a growth-stage company. For those coming from a professional services role, this is a great first step toward the world of operating or entrepreneurship for those who love building businesses.

Key responsibilities

  • Works with portfolio company executives and senior portfolio operations executives to execute value-creation initiatives. Over time, increasingly identifies value-creation opportunities independently
  • Drives focus and prioritization within portfolio companies
  • Over time, builds expertise in an M33 value creation pillar (e.g., go-to-market, talent, product)
  • Packages their work for easy deployment with new portfolio companies, helping our portfolio operations team scale their impact

Profile

  • 2+ years experience. Banking or consulting experience a plus
  • Operating experience is valued, though not required
  • Solid understanding of SaaS business models and value creation levers
  • Impeccable work ethic and integrity

  • Wins hearts and minds: Magnetic communicator who knows their agenda and drives it forward

  • Intellectual horsepower: Employs a dynamic analytical toolkit to generate quality insights, deals with ambiguous situations and imperfect information well
