Position Overview

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate technical proficiency, has strong verbal and written communication skills, and has the desire to learn and be involved in maintaining the security of our clients through the patching process. As part of Thrive’s Platform Team, the team is responsible for supporting internal staff and our clients in utilizing these systems to manage and support their environments. The Platform Engineer will be responsible for reviewing cases, assigning cases to the appropriate team member, creating patching change control documents, managing the tasks, and creating documentation of processes when needed. This position requires working outside of regular business hours on nights and weekends as needed. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Onboarding new clients. Assign the tasks and follow up with the implementation team to ensure we have all the information needed for onboarding.  

  • Work with team members to create and update documentation 

  • Review coming tasks and cases and assign them to the proper resources 

  • Keeping up with education on new features to provide support and training to staff and clients 

  • Assist other team members with tasks as time permits 

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: 

  • Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent work experience 

  • Excellent problem solver; able to resolve problems using analytical skills, technical expertise, event logs, or research 

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or in a team environment 

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 

  • Solid understanding: 

  • Microsoft Active Directory 

  • Group Policy 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Ability to articulate technical information and convey it to non-technical people 

  • Excellent customer service skills 

  • Ability to work after-hours as tasks dictate 

  • Willingness to train, learn, and educate others 

  • Detail oriented position requires high attention to detail 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks of varying priority 

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Broad knowledge of information technology processing systems, concepts, and methodologies. Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies. Preferred technical knowledge: 

  • Knowledge of Kaseya or any other patching products 

  • Experience with Microsoft/Linux Server and Workstation Operating Systems 

  • Experience with ServiceNow 

  • Experience with Visio, Excel, and MS Word 

  • Knowledge of Group Policy administration 

Certifications: To perform this job effectively, it is better to have a deeper understanding of the technologies we are working with.
