Join Huron’s AI Team as a Platform / DevOps Engineer and play a key role in making our AI solutions secure, scalable, and production-ready. You’ll build and manage the cloud-native environments, automation pipelines, and observability foundations that keep our prototypes, accelerators, and client systems running reliably. As part of our cross-functional delivery pods, you’ll collaborate with engineers, architects, and client teams to ensure every solution is delivered successfully at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (build, test, deploy) using tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.

  • Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation), creating reusable templates for accelerators and client solutions.

  • Containerize applications (Docker), deploy to Azure Container Apps / AKS, AWS ECS/EKS, or serverless as needed.

  • Set up observability: logging, monitoring, alerting; tools may include Azure Monitor and other enterprise-approved tools as required.

  • Ensure secure deployments: identity & access management (IAM, RBAC), VNet / VPC design, private endpoints, secrets management.

  • Implement encryption, access controls, and compliance guardrails (HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR awareness preferred).

  • Ensure deployments comply with performance, reliability, and cost goals for production environments.

  • Provide runbooks, operational documentation, and support handoff processes.

  • Evaluate and adopt open-source tools to improve automation, observability, and deployment efficiency.

  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and Engineers to align deployment and infrastructure patterns with enterprise guardrails.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, platform infrastructure, or cloud engineering roles.

  • Proficiency in Cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS — deploying services, using cloud-native tools.

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent).

  • Hands-on with containerization (Docker) and at least one orchestration tool (Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, etc.).

  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and best practices.

  • Experience with monitoring/logging/observability setup.

  • Understanding of cloud networking/security: IAM / RBAC, VNet/VPCs, private endpoints, secrets management.

  • Strong scripting (Python, Bash) for automation.

  • Preferred: Familiarity with Kubernetes package management.

  • Preferred: Exposure to AI/ML deployment (e.g. deploying models, integrating AI workflows, Azure OpenAI, LangGraph, etc.).

  • Strong communication skills; ability to liaise with client IT/security and internal teams.

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Flexible living locations across US or Canada, ability to travel as needed.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
