About the Team:

The Accounting team at Relativity spans tax and compliance, financial operations, general ledger, and business data strategy. While each group brings unique insights, they are united by a shared goal of protecting the financial integrity of Relativity, while also enabling smarter, faster decisions to help the company scale. You’ll collaborate deeply with teams across the business, ask the right questions, and become a trusted partner, not just a processor. With a focus on enabling growth, you’ll bring both structure and creativity to a highly dynamic environment.

About the Role

  • Serve as the senior accounting leader for the manufacturing site, owning the accuracy and integrity of site financial results and partnering closely with the Plant Manager and site leadership.
  • Lead plant accounting and close activities across manufacturing costs, inventory, fixed assets, capital projects, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Own manufacturing and cost accounting, including standard costs, labor and overhead, work in process, inventory valuation, and analysis of production and manufacturing variances.
  • Establish strong financial controls and disciplined processes across inventory, production reporting, purchasing, receiving, fixed assets, capital expenditures, and other plant operations.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting to translate manufacturing activity into accurate financial insights and improve business decisions.
  • Build and strengthen the accounting infrastructure needed to support the transition from development and low-rate production to repeatable, rate-based manufacturing, while leading and developing the site accounting team.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant experience in manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in plant controllership, site accounting, or manufacturing accounting leadership within a complex, capital-intensive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, fixed assets, and capital-project accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and plant leadership to understand operational drivers and solve complex financial issues.
  • Experience building or strengthening accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting in a growing or evolving manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate financial results at the operational level and maintain a regular, hands-on presence within manufacturing operations.

Nice to Have

  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant advanced qualification.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or another highly engineered manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting a transition from development or low-rate production to repeatable manufacturing, including implementing or improving standard costing and manufacturing master data.
  • Experience with complex manufacturing ERPs such as Infor LN, SAP, or Oracle, along with exposure to SOX, government contracting, project accounting, data analytics, or process automation.

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
